Of an evening, Thomas enjoys helping his human companions finish their... desserts, and will ensure the foot of the bed is warm and toasty for a good nights sleep. Thomas is accustomed to using a cat flap or an open window to be able to come and go as he feels. Being a country boy at heart he will fret if confined only to inside and is not suitable for a busy suburban block. In the right environment Thomas is a lovely and affectionate boy. He needs to go to a home with no other indoor pets or children, preferring a relaxed couple or individual to bond with. 16.01.2022 Poor Charlie had a torn nail.. Dr Clem gave him a sedation, pulled out the nail that was hanging, gave a good clean with disinfectant as well as pain relief and antibiotic, and Charlie could go home with a bandaged foot for a couple of days!

13.01.2022 Meet our superhero Dexter! Dexter came in as an early morning emergency, bit by a brown snake (check out the size of it in the pictures!). He was panting, collapsed, then it rapidly progressed into full paralysis. He was deteriorating quickly! No time to waste, Dexter was put on IV fluids and given 2 vials of anti-venom. He stayed on a ventilator for 3 days. He could eventually be weaned off it and breathing on his own! Dexter could return home a week later. We strongly believe that his Bronco's dressing gown helped him in the recovery!

12.01.2022 Beak and feather disease is a terribly debilitating disease within the parrot family. It is also highly contagious and all affected birds have to be euthanized. The destruction of their habitat have led birds to nest in the same hollows, creating an increase in the disease cases. You can help by putting up nesting boxes, and cleaning them thoroughly after each nesting period.

On Redley’s behalf I’d like to thank you all for your pats, belly rubs, cuddles and compliments. She’ll definitely miss those!! For the next 2 weeks we will enjoy working with you, until our last day Wed 16 December. 02.01.2022 This little possum got his feet burnt, probably on a power line during the storm. After recovery, he will be send back in the wild.

02.01.2022 Lucky suffered from bilateral entropion (the eyelids are rolling in and the hairs are rubbing against the eyeball). Dr Clem did a corrective surgery and now this adorable rescue cat can open his eyes and see the world!
