21.01.2022 Unfortunately parking issues are all too common. We encourage all residents to be more considerate of your neighbours and other residents. This is just one example In this case it appears that both cars are parked illegally. If a car, caravan or trailer is parked illegally (eg on the nature strip or footpath, or blocking a road or driveway) then you are able to lodge a complaint with Council (ph: 07 5475 72 72) with the vehicle rego, type and colour and location, and they will pass this onto their response team. In the meantime let's all play our part and do the right thing so we can all enjoy where we live.

19.01.2022 Dear members As you are aware the SCRA has been engaging with Innovative Planning Solutions (IPS), the town planning consultants who are representing the Chardan Development Group for the final stages of development of Sunshine Cove (Precincts 7 & 10). IPS has provided a link to an update on the current proposal before Council. Sunshine Coast Councillors will make a decision at the Council Ordinary Meeting on Thursday 15 October 2020 as to whether or not to support the curre...nt proposal. If the current proposal is not supported by Councillors, the development will revert to the ‘As of Right’ code assessable application. The link contains details of the 2 plans (current proposal and ‘As of Right’) currently lodged with Council and also has a table that easily compares the two. After feedback from the SCRA, the provision of an amenities block (toilet) at Bedarra Park, to be paid for by the developer, has been included as part of the delivery of the current proposal. Another issue that we raised was for the provision of park embellishments different to what we already have in Sunshine Cove and this is also included in the current proposal. After comparing the two proposals, if you feel strongly about supporting the current proposal before Council, it is vital that your voice is heard by our divisional Councillor Jason O’Pray, the Mayor and other Councillors who will vote on 15 October as to what will shape the final stages of Sunshine Cove (info below). Development will occur regardless - it is a now a matter of which option proceeds. Please take the time to be informed, compare the two options and have your say. All too often, Councillors only hear from people objecting to things. In this case, if you don’t take the opportunity to have your say on your preference, it could result in an outcome that you do not desire for our community as the two options are vastly different by way of yield (difference of 70 dwellings), type of residential dwellings and delivery of community facilities. If you choose to contact the Mayor and or the councillors, below is a list of their email addresses: Mayor Mark Jamieson [email protected] Division 1 Cr Rick Baberowski [email protected] Division 2 Cr Terry Landsberg [email protected] Division 3 Cr Peter Cox [email protected] Division 4 Cr Joe Natoli [email protected] Division 5 Cr Winston Johnston [email protected] Division 6 Cr Christian Dickson [email protected] Division 7 Cr Ted Hungerford [email protected] Division 8 Cr Jason O'Pray [email protected] Division 9 Cr Maria Suarez [email protected] Division 10 Cr David Law [email protected]

However, we require dedicated and committed volunteers to help with getting such an initiative off the ground? If you are computer literate, have some marketing and event planning experience please get in touch with us at [email protected] Become a SCRA member today to ensure you do not miss out on the first opportunity to get tickets! 02.01.2022 Halloween is approaching again (where has the year gone?) and the Bedarra Precinct is full of keen kids who love to dress up and go trick or treating. A couple of people have done some organisation for that precinct and dropped a purple balloon and card in mailboxes with instructions. If you'd like to participate and give out tricks or treats to children from 5pm on Saturday 31 October (in any precinct) then put a blown up balloon or decorations out the front of your house (the children will know to only go to those houses). In these COVID times, it's best to have individually wrapped lollies.

01.01.2022 How great is our new footpath over to Heritage Park? :)

01.01.2022 Can you join us next Sunday to Clean up the Cove? Message or email us - [email protected]. More the merrier.
