22.01.2022 20 seconds is all it takes for a child to drown. Supervision is constant visual contact with your child. Make sure you are in a position to respond quickly by keeping children under 5 years within arms’ reach and children under 10 years always be in sight. Supervision is not an occasional glance while you read or undertake household chores, and it is not looking outside at your kids playing while you are inside. Supervision Tip: Minimise any temptation to leave a child unsupervised near water by having everything ready before bathing your child or going for a swim (i.e. towels, sunscreen, dry clothes, phone etc.) Sign up to swimming lessons today! https://leisurecentres.brimbank.vic.gov.au//swimming-lesso

18.01.2022 In line with the Government announcements, there have been some changes to the operations of Brimbank Leisure Centres. These new restrictions come into effect from 5pm this afternoon (Dec 31st). Masks are now mandatory to wear while indoors. This means that staff, members and guests will need to be wearing their mask while in the Centre. Exceptions to this are if the person is in the water, or if they are in the health club/ group fitness class and are physically exerting the...mselves. Lifeguards are not required to wear a mask while on deck to ensure effective communication to patrons. Lifeguards must carry their mask at all times, and wear it while not on deck or when a 1.5m distance cannot be maintained. These changes will be enforced from 10am tomorrow morning (Jan 1st).
