09.01.2022 Fear or anxiety of going to the dentist is incredibly common, with some studies showing almost 30% of all adults around the world suffer from it! And I am not ashamed to say, I used to be one of those. Waiting until a little cavity became so big that it ended up having to crack, be pulled or root-canalled. Only then would I gather up the courage to make that dreaded call and get myself in the dentist chair. This was exactly what recently happened to a crown thats been sensit...ive and wobbly for a while and which I have been true to form just ignoring. I was brushing my teeth before work when it fell in the basin with a horrid clang, causing me to nearly faint at the sight of the tooth. It was staring up at me almost accusingly. . . Like, seriously, did you really have to wait for it to get to THIS again???? And so off I went to SV Dental Sun Valley, the only one that could take me in straight away as an emergency, no questions asked. And what an amazing experience its been. Looking back, its hard to pinpoint exactly what made me overcome this irrational fear. Perhaps the friendly faces youre greeted with the minute you walk through the door. The bubbly owner, Sue Young, is a seasoned veteran of the dental world and she has that rare ability to just make you feel at home. It does not look, smell, sound or feel like a dental practice. And as Carmel, my brilliant dentist fixed up my crown in no time, I could not help but wonder what on earth has taken me so long. If I could have a conversation with my younger self, this is what I would tell her: If you just bite the bullet - pardon the pun and visit the dentist every six months, those little cavities need never turn into mountains. They would be spotted early and fixed, no need for alarm or costly procedures. And Carmel, I know weve only met twice, but I think I love you. I really do. See more

We recommend that your child first see a dentist once their first teeth start to appear, so we can advise and get them used to seeing us regularly when they are older. Our dentists are happy to see patients of all ages!
