25.01.2022 It is certainly unsettling times for us all at the moment and I'd just like to take some time to reassure our valued clients that Sun Valley Massage Therapy take infection control and hygiene standards very seriously AT ALL TIMES. During this period of heightened concern, we have implemented additional preventative measures, including: Increased personal sanitation and hygiene procedures which includes washing and disinfecting hands repeatedly throughout the day and before/...after interactions with each client. We ensure that linen is changed and sanitized between each client and all touch surfaces including door handles, tables and equipment is disinfected multiple times during the day. We do ask that if you have traveled overseas, that you please postpone your appointment for at least two weeks following your return. It is also critically important that if you are feeling unwell or suffering flu like symptoms, that you please contact me to reschedule your appointment. I'd also like to remind everyone that this is a very anxious time and it is of vital importance that we practice self-care to help reduce those feelings of anxiety and fear. Research has shown that massage is very beneficial in reducing anxiety and boosting the immune system so please take the time to look after yourself! Take care everyone! Kate x

I am so excited to be able to welcome my clients back for massage therapy treatments! 21.01.2022 It is with a very heavy heart that I announce that as of midnight tomorrow evening (25 March, 2020) Sun Valley Massage Therapy will be forced to close due to Federal Government restrictions surrounding the COVID19 crisis. This is obviously truly devastating times for all Australians but now is the time we need to connect and be there for each other - more than ever! I'm trying to remain positive that this storm will pass as quickly as it has formed and it is my hope that I w...ill have the support of all of my wonderful clients when that day comes (sooner rather than later!) 18.01.2022 To all my wonderful clients.... I hope you're all keeping well and staying safe during this incredibly challenging time in our lives. I've been taking this time to reflect, recharge my body and also do my best to navigate this new "normal" life. I have to say, it's been quite a challenge for me personally... The thing I'm hearing the most is "When are you allowed to open - I'm desperate for a massage!" (You and me both! ) I wish I had the answer as I am certainly looking fo...rward to getting back to work - I'm missing my clients terribly! The most recent ease in restrictions has seen remedial massage therapists being allowed to return to work but unfortunately this does not apply to me as I am a relaxation massage therapist. However, I feel like there is a light at the end of the tunnel and I don't believe we'll have to wait TOO much longer before I can reopen my doors - and trust me, as soon as I am allowed to, my schedule will be open for appointments! Until that day, keep safe, keep smiling and keep doing your best to get through this difficult time. When all else fails, I've heard wine helps! See you soon, Kate

01.01.2022 A dear friend gave me a book on Self-Care recently and I'd like to share an excerpt about the feelings of guilt so commonly associated with taking that time out for yourself.... "Don't let guilt run the show. It's all too easy to feel guilty about self-care. For most of us, that's a big reason why it gets pushed to the bottom of the priority pile. We feel guilty because we perceive that self-care is selfish or indulgent. But nothing could be further from the truth.... Self-care is hard and it requires you to be disciplined. Self-care equals self respect. Respect yourself, then you'll take care of yourself. When you take care of yourself, you feel good about yourself. In that positive mindset, you will be better able to care well for others. So drop the guilt. By looking after yourself, you are looking after you family and your future too." Taking whatever time we can to practice self-care (in whichever form that comes in for you - we're all different!) is so important for our mental, physical and emotional health. This passage truly resonated with me and I hope by sharing it, it encourages you all to start prioritizing your own self-care journey
