25.01.2022 It’s Refugee day. Look at little Phi, even though he wore second hand by necessity, he was winning at opshopping at a very young age. New clothes donated by the kindness of strangers were much appreciated. On this refugee day I wish for those who have been in lockdown for years to have freedom to live their best lives. May their children have the opportunities our sons (the sons of a refugee) enjoy here in Australia. ... Rural Australians for Refugees are doing their annual ‘Socks and Jocks’ collection. All collected donations will be taken to the Asylum Seekers Resource Centre to supply the important every day items of new socks and underwear for refugees; men, women and children. Donations can be left in a dedicated box in the Castlemaine Library or dropped off at the counter of the Information Centre in the Market Building anytime from 1st Dec to 23rd December. There is an urgent need for such items by those who visit the ASRC.
