Here is a ...model I draw a lot for clients in the clinic who obsess over the numbers in their lab reports. The numbers in lab reports are BIOMARKERS, they give the clinician an overall idea of how your body is making changes to deal with particular stressors. The biomarker is not in and of itself a problem, it is an insight into how things need to move and shift to maintain metastability. In this regard, it is rather like the passengers on a ship. if the ship is stable, the passengers can walk freely from area to area. If the ship encounters some nasty sea change, passengers may be forced inside. If the ship develops a leak and begins to sink front-first, the passengers need to run to the back end, to both move away from incoming water, but also to balance the ship's weight in order to prevent it sinking. When clinicians try and "shoehorn" labs into place pharmacologically, or even with supplements, without addressing the whole, it is akin to sending the passengers back to the front on a sinking ship.
