11.01.2022 There's a lot of history in our suburb. In 1857 the Sydney Railway Company contracted William Randle to construct a single rail line from Liverpool to Campbelltown. The 12 miles of track was laid at a cost of 7,000 per mile. During the 1870s and the 80s the rural estates of the district were subdivided and villages established, creating demand for intermediate stations. Over a 20 year period railway platforms and stations were established at Macquarie Fields, Glenfield, Campbellfield, Minto and Ingleburn. In 1891 a parallel line was opened.
