14.01.2022 Barro Group again dumping sediment into California Creek/Logan River. State Gov. ignored community complaints.
12.01.2022 Cornubia residents impacted by 10 hours/day of unrelenting heavy machinery noise from the new quarry are outraged that their local State Parliamentarian Melissa McMahon is dismissive of their concerns. The new superquarry is an arrangement between the State Gov and the Melbourne based quarry owner. Local families have been forced to lock down their houses since the start of works last week due to excessive noise. Melissa McMahon - MP for Macalister Mick de Brenni Cr. 09.01.2022 70,000 trucks/year, silica dust 10 x background, open mining pit 1km across, 5m below sea level in the middle of Mt Cotton and 200m from homes! With 8 large quarries already in the region, which candidates support a Parliamentary Enquiry into the assessment, conditioning and impact of the new Mt Cotton Super Quarry forced on us by a Ministerial Call In Dec 2013? 02.01.2022 A condition required of the Ministerial Call In (Qld Gov.) was no truck access to the new quarry via Fabian/Gramzow/Wuduru Rd (Division 10 Logan). This condition has been blatantly disregarded by the Barro Group with fuel trucks accessing the site earlier this year and today heavy machinery. Earlier this year, for the second time, local creeks that were once pristine were contaminated by runoff from the site. Less electioneering by de Brenni MP for Springwood and McMahon MP f...or Macalister and start representing us by fixing this blight on our community. 75,000 truck movements on local roads because of this poorly sited superquarry, families forced to leave their homes - not good enough.
