25.01.2022 Unlike solar only systems, which are limited to a +33% PV panel to inverter rating oversize, hybrid (solar+battery) systems are not subject to this rule. This means panel arrays can utilise the full PV input rating on the inverter, which could mean an extra half a kW, which would be lost on a solar only system. As authorities started to clamp down on the size rule, they mistakenly applied the solar only alone rule to the hybrid systems, however now that it has come to light that hybrid systems can oversize panels without restriction, expect to see an upshot in hybrid system installations.
