Naturally the certificate was the centrepiece, but our client asked if we could also feature the robe and mortarboard she wore at her graduation. With some creative thinking and planning it came together to create a truly one of a kind piece that will stay in her family for years to come. Expert tip! 21.01.2022 We put our computerised matt cutter through its paces to create this one of a kind piece, so much so that Ive decided to keep it for myself but I wanted to share it so you can see what kind of cool techniques we can use on your favourite things. I wanted to create an edgy vibe with impact, and to do this Ive designed and cut in jagged lines. This mirrors the livery on @kblock43 Hoonicorn Upclose, you can also see how Ive created depth using special spacing techniques.... It is then finished off with subtle logo placement which I achieved using debossing. Lots of work and love has gone into this custom piece

18.01.2022 Canvas Stretching! Canvas art is an easy way to add a touch of colour to your decor, just remember to make sure it is not cut off too close to the artwork, as it may not be able to be re-stretched!

17.01.2022 Celebrating beautiful art in all its forms this August with Arty August. Today is wintery in #Perth so we thought wed kick off Arty August with this beautiful print of the painting Dance under the rain by @leonidafremov. Leonid uses a unique technique of palette knife and this print shows this beautifully. To do this print justice, we created a custom frame which is actually three individual frames layered together. The main frame is reminiscent of 20th century Europe with its bold colouring and it is stacked onto a bright orange frame which is then blended into the print with a thin black wooden frame. This photo doesnt do it any justice come admire it in our showroom! This is a showstopper.

07.01.2022 We love something different and this map is definitely that! It looks like a brown world map, but you can actually scratch the places you have visited, its a scratch map! This was a custom framing job for a great customer, and given he plans to scratch the places he has visits we paired it with a simple, elegant black frame. No glass = maximum scratch fun!

06.01.2022 The Chicken of the Sea and Cactus Refractus. The names alone are super cool. These prints are from @irisscottart a US based artist who creates her pieces using her special technique finger painting. To celebrate these one of a kind artworks, we stretched the canvas and used a vintage look float frame. To add the @superstarsonline touch, the art is backlit with remote control operated LED lights. Definitely one to see in our showroom.

02.01.2022 Another beauty by @leonidafremov The Loneliness of Autumn captures that beautiful dawn or dusk period, as the sun is about to rise or set, and the street lights twinkle in the dark. The colours are mesmerising. Another one that is done no justice by a photo come say hello and check it out in person! This custom frame is actually 3 individual frames cut and layered to become one the colours perfectly complimenting the print.

01.01.2022 What started off as an idea to display a piece of history, quickly developed into a passion project. This is a long post, but stay with me its worth it! This piece is a real, decommissioned Australian rifle used in the Second World War (note: not a replica!). For those military enthusiasts its a 1942 Lee Enfield No. 1 Mk 111 (SMLE) Rifle. Its 76 years old! Sitting alongside, is a British pattern 1907 bayonet and scabbard. Again, not replicas, they are the real thin...g. It was a very moving experience to work with these pieces knowing they were carried and used by our armed forces to serve. If they could talk, I know they would have stories to tell. My initial idea was to create the feeling of the pieces being stored in a wooden shipping container and as I started the inspiration kept coming! The moulding I used, has a weathered and distressed finish, to give the idea that the timber itself has a rich working history. Each piece was unique so I combined two different pieces to complement the rifle, bayonet and scabbords natural features. To give it the Superstars finish, I have hidden LED strip lighting that is remote control operated basically, I wanted to give each piece the spotlight it deserves. I love this piece and its been an honour to work with it definitely a career highlight. Its in our showroom gallery now for viewing and I cant wait for it to find its perfect home!
