25.01.2022 Including today, there are just 39 days left in 2020 Both globally and at home, it’s been one of the most challenging years in recent history, and we’ll all be happy to wave goodbye to 2020 on New Year’s Eve. But no matter how imposing the darkness can seem, there’s always some light to be found. That’s why we decided that this post is for #PositiveVibesOnly! ... As our HR Guru, Divya has had perhaps her most difficult year at Supple from a professional point of view, we asked her to share one of her personal highlights from 2020 I've learnt to be very mindful and present with my day to day work and personal life, regardless of the pressures of this year! I've been practicing this and ensuring everything I do is with purpose. I've definitely improved in the art of listening too. Thanks so much for sharing your positive vibes with us all, Div. It’s great to hear about the many silver linings that this challenging year has brought to us. If you have a positive story from this year, share it with us and with those around you. Let’s make these last 39 days something to smile about!

24.01.2022 Have you ever searched for something specific on Google only to be disappointed by the results? Sure, you find lots of information related to your topic, but you can’t seem to find the one piece of information you’re actually searching for. Specific #GoogleSearches can sometimes be like finding a needle in a haystack, and Google believes it has just got better at finding that needle. ... Google is rolling out Passage-based indexing, which it believes will help users find specific information. This update will allow Google to rank pages based on the content in specific passages, rather than looking at the page as a whole. This is great news for searchers and an interesting development for those of us in the SEO field. With passage-based indexing, you may not need to worry about having a different page for every subtopic. This update may allow Google to pick out the best information, even if it is hidden deeper in a page. This is another step towards creating content that is structured and written for people, not for search engines. Passage-based indexing is expected to affect 7% of searches globally and will begin its rollout in the USA!

23.01.2022 Wishing a very happy #ChineseNewYear to all our clients, partners, and friends! This year is the Year of the Ox, which is said to be a lucky one! In the Supple offices, the fortune cookies were flowing and the decorations were dazzling to celebrate the day! ... Each of us wrote well wishes in a red envelope and hung them around the office for our colleagues to open and enjoy. We wish you wealth, luck, and many new beginnings in the Year of the Ox. Have a wonderful day and a wonderful year ahead!

23.01.2022 Are you dreading having to go back to the office when all the restrictions finally lift? We talk a lot about our office culture at Supple, but let’s be honest... For some people, #WorkingFromHome is a treat that they’re not ready to part with. If that’s the case for you, just remember to look for the diamonds in the rough when the day finally comes. ... Sure, you probably haven’t missed public transport and early rises, but just think of the coffee breaks or the colleagues you might not have seen since March! At Supple, we consider ourselves lucky. We’ve been able to work from home and there will be some pretty big diamonds waiting for us when we go back. I mean, just look at Kedar and Ashish’s big smiles. Kedar is beaming from ear to ear and Ash can’t even hide his smile behind a phone! It’ll be great to be reunited with Kedar’s calm nature and on-point outfits, not to mention Ash’s enthusiasm and infectious personality. Then there’s the table tennis, the Xbox, and the chill Friday nights after work The list just goes on. Of course, the transition still won’t be fun for everyone, but each of us will be there for each other with big smiles on our faces when the day does come. How are you feeling about a return to the office, or if you’re already back, what was that process like for you?

23.01.2022 What’s the difference between your business and the products/services you provide? If your answer is not much, then you have a bit of a problem. It’s perfectly OK to be associated with your products and services, but there’s one good reason that your business identity should go beyond that. ... That reason, of course, is that other businesses probably offer the same products and services as you. To stand apart when you’re offering more of the same, you need to understand your #ValueProposition. Your Value Proposition represents the unique way you solve your customers’ problems compared to the competition. While it might just sound like a piece of marketing, it’s definitely important to understand your Value Proposition. It gives your customer a reason to go with you over the other guy, and you need to understand that reason in order to continually attract new customers. The easiest way to understand your Value Proposition is to answer the following: 1. What main problem does your customer usually come to you with? 2. What benefits do your products and services provide, and how are they valuable in solving this problem? 3. How do you as a business stand apart in the delivery of these products and services? By answering these questions, you not only have a Value Proposition. You also have the ability to understand what your customer wants and the most effective way of selling it to them. So the next time you think your business is just products and services, think again and think of your Value Proposition.

22.01.2022 Were you ready to communicate remotely with your customers in 2020? COVID-19 threw a lot of curveballs towards businesses, and communication was a big one. But every curveball is also a chance to learn, so here are a few #CustomerCommunication tips you can take into 2021: 1. Organise your first meeting with a new customer or client in a remote setting. This is easy and convenient, and it establishes remote meetings as an option in the future. ... 2. Schedule in person meetings on a regular basis. By scheduling 3-monthly, 6-monthly or yearly meetings, you can track your customers’ experiences with you, their opinion of you, and the results they are experiencing. 3. Set goals with your clients or customers and get in touch with them when these goals are met. An email, quick call, or even an SMS could be appropriate for this! 4. Get in touch with your customers before they get in touch with you. As well as scheduled in-person meetings, make sure you touch base with customers through phone calls and emails in between this. Ask them how you can help or just provide a little update. 5. Keep track of your communications. Before you pick up the phone, send an email, or attend a meeting, you should know when a customer was last contacted, what was discussed, and what the expectations were for next time. What other lessons has your business learned from this tumultuous year?

22.01.2022 Two years ago today, the meritorious Michelle Obama released her memoir, entitled Becoming. And that got us thinking if we were to write an autobiography about Supple, what would the title be? As anyone in the marketing and branding space knows, a lot hinges on a good name. From landing pages to memoirs, the name you choose can create an awesome or awful impression. ... With that in mind, and with our tongue firmly in our cheek, we’ve put together a list of possible memoir titles for Supple - Optimised The Supple Story - There’s no such thing as too much coffee - Evolve to the top (that one’s also Supple’s slogan) - The Table Tennis Marketers - How to Lose a Table Tennis Ball in 10 Minutes - Two Guys in a Garage - Garage Tales - Near Me - Let Me Google That for You What memoir titles can you think of for you or your business?

20.01.2022 Are you a small business owner or marketer using Facebook Ads? You need to know about iOS 14, the latest update for Apple iPhones. iOS 14 has a major data collection update it prompts users to give permission when an app wants to collect data. ... For Facebook Ads, no data collection means no site and app activity tracking through pixels. Here’s just some of what this could result in for Facebook Ads: No real-time reporting, with delays up to three days Estimated conversion results, meaning less accurate data for you No breakdowns based on age, region, gender, etc. Custom and lookalike audiences may become less efficient Less data going to Facebook may result in less efficient campaign optimisation models in the future! iOS 14 is already out in the world and Facebook recommends a range of steps to prepare. This includes verifying your website domain in Facebook Business Manager and configuring for 8 conversion events per domain. Are you prepared for iOS 14? For more information & tips, check out Facebook’s Resource Centre!

18.01.2022 November 2020 seems like another world for Victorians The sun is shining more, businesses of all kinds are reopening, and the hope of a normal summer continues to grow stronger. It’s time to get out and about, and no one loves getting out more than our Service Manager Trent. ... We know there are some activities that Trent will be itching to try, so we asked him to tell us what’s on the very top of his summer wish list. Trent has a very summery activity in mind with a very wintery explanation: I’m looking to get more into surfing and wakeboarding this summer because I didn’t get my snowboarding fix this year! One way or another, Trent’s getting on a board in 2020 (although he’s more experienced in the snow than the surf, so staying on the board might actually be the issue ) What activity is on the top of your summer 2020-21 wish list?

18.01.2022 Just because you’re a small business owner, it doesn’t mean you can’t get big benefits from data Here are three sources of #data and how they can benefit your business! Customer feedback: If you want to improve your products and services, see what customers are consistently saying about them! You can look for common trends in customer service logs, social media posts, and online reviews. You can even compare these trends to sales data to see how this customer perceptio...n is affecting your bottom line. A/B Testing: A/B testing involves making one change to a social media post, email, landing page, webpage or other piece of promotional material. You can then see if the original or changed campaign was more successful and use this knowledge to improve future marketing efforts. Google Analytics: Anyone can get Google Analytics and it can provide a treasure trove of data. For example, you might notice that visitors don’t stay on your website long, meaning you should make changes to increase engagement and reduce bounce rate. Using the data around you can only benefit your business so don’t be afraid to jump in. When looking at data and how it changes over time, remember to think of it in terms of percentage increases and decreases so you really get the full picture on how your business is performing!

17.01.2022 Today marks 100 years of QANTAS, Australia’s iconic national airline. On November 16 1920, Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services Limited was officially born. It’s fair to say that it hasn’t been the best year for the Flying Kangaroo, or any airline for that matter, but we all hope their jets are back in the skies soon. ... One of the main reasons for this, of course, is so we can all get travelling again! Today, we asked our SEO geek Vish the first place he wants to travel on a plane when borders open and jumbo jets get back in the sky. Vish is keen to head back to Kerala, a southern state on India's Malabar Coast. So it’ll be palm trees and tropical sunshine for Vish once he steps off the plane. What’s the next place you’d like to travel on an aeroplane?

16.01.2022 Today is International Men’s Day On November 19, we shine a light on the positive male role models in our life and raise awareness for their wellbeing. For our Sales Sensation JP, 2020 has been a year where he’s barely been allowed to go to the golf course, so it’s fair to say that the struggle has been real ... The theme for this year’s #InternationalMensDay is Better health for men and boys. While we can laugh about the golf course being closed, the challenges of 2020 have been tough for many of us. In Australia, life may have returned to something close to normal, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t people still struggling with the challenges that this year, and every year, can bring. Take a chance to reach out to those around you today, especially the blokes who struggle to put their hand up when something’s wrong. It’s not just about the men, but the women and children, the boys and girls who may need a helping hand. This year has proven that we’re stronger and more effective when we work together. So get together and look after each other and then you can head out for a round of golf!

15.01.2022 When you run a sprint, the world passes around you in a blur. And when you run a marathon, you see more of the world around you. The effort remains immense but the pace isn’t so frenetic. It simply can’t be. In business, it sometimes feels like the industry is sprinting around you while you’re trying to run your marathon. At other times, it can feel like you’re sprinting to try and keep up but missing so many opportunities as you do. ... As businesses, we need to learn how to keep up without leaving the important things behind. We started thinking about all this when we read some feedback from our client David at Smart Planter Boxes. Here’s what he had to say about his experience with Supple: Professional, detailed, knowledgeable, excellent communication, efficient. In such a fast pace industry, it's almost unreal to find experts with up-to-date practice/knowledge. Our rankings are so good we cut back our Google Ads. SEO is doing great & we recently gave them my 2nd website as it was underperforming elsewhere. Thank you so much for that feedback, David. You’re right. Keeping up in such a fast-paced industry is hard, especially if you want to do it right. We will strive to keep delivering cutting-edge yet proven digital marketing solutions that produce the same great results we have for David’s websites. If you have a website that feels like it’s falling behind the pace or sprinting in the wrong direction, now is a great time to think about the type of race you want your business to run.

12.01.2022 Is there a more perfect Supple picture than our office funny man Raul at the table tennis table? Big jokes and great talent, hard work and amazing table tennis shots that’s what Supple is all about. Even this year, when we’ve spent more time working at home than working in the office, we still feel that connection that comes with being part of the Supple family. ... Our in-person reunion is just over the horizon, so what better time to ask one of Supple’s most iconic employees what this means to him. We asked Raul to describe what he loves about working in the office at Supple, and here’s what he said What I love about the office is the environment, the snack station, and all the things we have to chill and relax. It’s great to share the day with your colleagues and I love that real baristas are nearby for a real coffee - kind of tired of drinking homemade coffee! We hear you loud and clear Raul, especially the part about the lack of barista coffee at home. I guess the first coffee run is on you when we all get back to the office! What’s something that you love about your office culture that you missed while working from home in 2020?

11.01.2022 If there’s one thing you should focus on for your digital marketing in 2021, it’s #UserExperience The pandemic has changed the way people communicate with businesses, with customers seeking real relationships, even in digital settings. As well as this, more and more businesses have found themselves online as a result of the pandemic and the restrictions that came with it. ... Focusing on creating a great user experience in all online settings will help you foster meaningful relationships with potential customers while setting you apart from the growing crowd. But don’t just take our word for it. Google agrees too! In May 2021, the search engine will start highlighting pages in search results that offer a great page experience. As well as this, Google’s Core Web Vitals will officially become ranking factors in 2021. Core Web Vitals look at things like the speed, responsiveness, security, and stability of a webpage, or in other words, the core foundations of user experience. Does your website just offer good information or does it truly provide a great user experience? If your website is lacking in the UX department, now is the time to take action!

09.01.2022 What does it take to move a mountain, climb a mountain, or conquer a mountain? According to this quote, the answer is faith, but faith in what exactly? Well, we always have faith in something greater, and 2020 has showed us exactly how faith can move mountains Faith in our team helped us move a whole business to operate remotely when it mattered most. We had never done it on that scale before, but in a matter of hours, Supple was fully functional and fully remote. ... Faith in each other and those we choose as leaders has helped us to suppress a virus and live a life that’s close to normal. Were there missteps, mistakes, and suffering? Absolutely. Is it all over? No. But what we’ve achieved we have achieved together. We had faith in our clients, giving them the support they needed when things were at their worst for businesses. In return, our clients had faith in us to do the important work to prepare for their inevitable return. In 2020, the Supple team has spent every day having faith in people, in ideas, in communities and in each other. We’ve had to do it, and like everyone has this year, we’re proud to have moved some mountains in the process. What have you had faith in this year, and how has it helped you move mountains?

06.01.2022 If a picture tells a thousand words, then an #AnimatedGIF is basically the Harry Potter series! Even if we don’t agree on how its pronounced, everyone loves a GIF, but does everyone include Google? If you’re worried about animated GIFs and SEO, the key is not to overthink it. For the most part, Google treats GIFs just like all other images, so you just need to follow the standard rules: ... - Give your GIFs unique filenames - Write descriptive alt text for your GIFs - If your GIFs include text, use them in the alt text - Make sure your GIFs are optimised so they don’t slow down your website - Make sure your GIFs are optimised for accessibility - All images, including GIFs, can be added to your sitemap If you optimise and use GIFs correctly, they can keep readers engaged, break up your content, encourage sharing, and play their role in SEO. So I suppose there’s only one question left How do you pronounce GIF? Are you Team Hard G or Team Soft G?

01.01.2022 The best thing about getting back to the office is racking up those wins on the table tennis table The Supple team is slowly coming back together, but for a lot of us, it’s been a long time working from home and sitting on the table tennis sidelines. Luckily, we’ve got a #TableTennis Pro in the house, our website Guru Fenil. ... For those of us who are feeling a bit rusty, Fenil has put together his top 3 tips for improving on the table tennis table. 1. Continuously bounce the ball on your table tennis bat to improve focus and reflexes 2. Try to create your own version of shots which suits your physique 3. Practise, practise, and practise. It really is the key to victory! Maybe soon we’ll see Stephen playing shots as tall as his 6 foot 5 frame, Kira secretly bouncing a ball on a bat under her desk, and the line to practise some table tennis grow even longer! Do you have some table tennis tips of your own?

If the pandemic has forced your small business online, consider these 5 #OnlineSmallBusiness tips as we transition into 2021: 1. Be present with your online presence: Interact with customers and offer support through your website, social media, and anywhere else you plant your business’s digital footprint. ... 2.
