24.01.2022 My Spending Planner Demonstration tomorrow! Due to incredibly popular demand, we have scheduled a fifth My Spending Planner demonstration session. Register for our free live demonstration to have a look first-hand at how amazingly useful (and time efficient) this innovative tool is - and see how it could help you! Support Coordination is all about offering choice and control for participants. However helping them to fully understand how their NDIS budget could be fully utilised is a challenge. My Spending Planner is a tool that will save you time and enable participants to fully utilise their NDIS plans. Join us for a demonstration of My Spending Planner on: Wednesday 26th August 10-11am AEST https://calendly.com/s/demonstration-of-my-spending-planner

20.01.2022 Breaking news out of the NDIS this morning ... And it is some good news about masks We know lots of you have been concerned about the fact that disability ser...vice providers could charge NDIS participants for the costs of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). (Note this was only for participants in Victoria and NSW) People were definitely worried it was running down their NDIS funds. Who knew when they had their planning meeting that they would need money for masks and stuff? So the good news is ... providers can now charge the NDIA directly. The NDIA will pay the invoices - it won't come out of individual plans. So if your provider comes to you and asks if they can charge you for PPE you can tell them they can talk to the NDIA and charge them. It DOES NOT have to come out of your NDIS funds. But important to remember - this is still only for people in Victoria and New South Wales. You can read more on the NDIS website here - https://www.ndis.gov.au//5144-vic-and-nsw-providers-direct Unfortunately the media release is not very clear. We have been told there is more information coming for participants - we will bring it to you as soon as it lands. 16.01.2022 Just in case you missed it ... Yesterday the Victorian government made a HUGE announcement about social housing. The Victorian government will spend $5billion b...uilding more than 12,000 new homes for people currently waiting on waiting lists for public or community housing. People who are: homeless experiencing family violence have a psychosocial disability will be first in line for these new homes. The funding also includes 2900 affordable homes, to be rented out at below-market rates. These houses will be built to help people on low incomes live closer to where they work. Social procurement targets have also been set for the projects - meaning there should be more jobs for young people, people with disability and people from an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background. This is why investment in social housing is such a win win - people get a home AND the economy gets a much needed boost. Now - to make sure these new homes are accessible!
