25.01.2022 Ideally, mid morning and mid afternoon are said to be the optimal times, but I always encourage people to find ANY time to fit it in, rather than missing it because it wasn't perfectly when it should be.

25.01.2022 Facial twitches aren’t something most people think of all the time, but most of us experience them at some stage. Have you ever had an eyelid twitching while you are trying to focus, and it drives you nuts? Or a muscle elsewhere on your face which can last from a few seconds to hours? This is heavily connected with electrolyte imbalances and often stress makes things worse too. ... Loss of magnesium during stress is so often followed closely by potassium loss, and other cascades happen too. In times of stress we may not drink enough, theoretically replenish either mag or electrolytes and it compounds things even more... Adrenal cocktails are a good starting point if you are getting twitches, but remember you want to also see what you can do to reduce your stress and eat well too.

25.01.2022 Have you seen my blog talking about iron, magnesium and inflammation? If not, would you like to see it? What do you find most interesting about it?

17.01.2022 If you have been experiencing brain fog and nothing seems to shake it, then I suggest you reach out to discuss whether you'd be suited to getting some testing done and have a consult to interpret the results. Reach out if you'd like to book in for an online session with Kristan. If you'd like a link to book, or to find out more, please let us know.

17.01.2022 I’m very blessed to live near a Costco... it means we can do smaller shops, regularly and just get our few core goodies. After a recent trip, a business colleague asked me to share what I get when I head there and suggested I share it here... so, here I am! What do I aim for?... - Organic wherever possible - it’s a priority for me. - No additives - numbers aren’t welcome here! No preservatives, artificial colours etc - Low sugar/natural sugars over added The freeze dried strawberries do have a small amount of sugar added and I rarely get them as a result. They also aren’t organic (those are harder to find and very $$). The mixed fruit chips are just dried fruit, fruit bars are also 100% fruit - though I limit my kids intake of them because it is concentrated. I do typically try to get organic nuts as a priority, though sometimes I get these pistachios. I rarely get corn based products unless it’s organic - so a big bag of tortilla rounds is sometimes purchased and we use them for making nachos. Hot chocolates are regular in our menu - made completely from scratch with nuts and cacao butter, so if I run out of cacao between our co-op runs, I’ll get things like this. Maple syrup is sometimes used in our cooking, so another organic option we get. Moral of the story is that I am selective on what I buy, I don’t go crazy for cleaning stuff, toilet paper or just because they have bulk things. It’s not always as good in the value for money as it seems... and think about what your family habits truly are...

17.01.2022 This is a great representation of the different types of blood types and who your blood donations help

16.01.2022 Many people don't know this about retinol conversion... in general, we need to eat sources of retinol/vitamin A, as optimal conversion requires our body to be in peak condition, to have sufficient nutrients present in what we are eating, and other factors. Read more in this past post...

16.01.2022 Celebrating my 18th whole blood donation! I help you to 3 others every time, and help myself every time! 13.01.2022 Do you have any "joyful movement" in your daily routine?

13.01.2022 How do I know my minerals/vitamins are out of balance and I need to do something? How well do you rate the following out of 10? sleep quality and quantity? energy levels?... digestion? focus/clarity of mind? histamine problems? other physical or mental symptoms which stop you feeling like you are at your best? These are all signs of your body not being able to make energy or clear exhaust (by products of metabolism)... likely elevated oxidative stress and the lack of capacity to deal with it. Minerals/food based vitamins can help you change this...

10.01.2022 It's really great to receive positive feedback after consults with clients. You know, those warm and fuzzy feelings. Soooo... if you've had a consult with me, I'd love it if you would leave me a review here on my Facebook page. Just click here: https://www.facebook.com/pg/SupportingBalance/reviews/

09.01.2022 Recently someone asked how others started with magnesium, and it reminded me that my audience may like to see my response! I started out with 4 sprays of mag oil on my feet each night before bed. I then went up by 2 sprays each day once per week... yes, that’s all I changed. ... Once I was dripping with the mag oil, I started to think of other options, so I added magnesium glycinate tablets - just one per day at bed time and I would drop back the sprays to almost none, and start increasing them again a week later. It took about 6 months, probably more like 7-8, but I ended up just increasing the tablets and sprays like that to get to the suggested mag amount. I got curious over time and added in other types as I found them. The mineral drops (Amenas Daily Boost) are awesome and were a great addition to my family’s routine about 18 months after I first started mag. These days I typically use 5 different types of mag each day and feel so much better on that, rather than just one or two types. Just do whatever you choose, but go slow and learn to hear what your body has to say. You won’t have to go as slowly as me necessarily, but a slow stepped approach like this is worth considering. I didn’t even know what an adrenal cocktail (AC) was for probably 8+ months and couldn’t start the OJ one at the time. I do feel it’s important for most to introduce ACs as a priority, if you go slowly with whatever you do and never push through just for the sake of it, you can find results like this too.

06.01.2022 If you are a mother with a munchkin with digestive challenges, like constipation or they are quite unsettled after food, have you looked into their mineral health? We can help you to understand what is going on in a 45 minute intro session. https://supportbalance.kartra.com/checkout/intro-to-minerals

02.01.2022 This powerful message is just one gem from Bruce's book, The Biology of Belief: Unleashing the Power of Consciousness, Matter & Miracles What was your biggest take-away from this book?

02.01.2022 At this time of year, my edible garden often suffers because of the radiating heat when we don’t have regular rain. Even with that, I do manage to get a lot of produce which we manage to build into as much of our cooking as we can. This is now cooked into our vegetable stock paste - a concentrated paste which has lots of salt but loads of fresh goodness too!
