10.01.2022 Some Year 11 AIMS students are currently creating a video for the Support Networks Australia, founded by Barbara Kienast and her team. These students actively e...ngaged and filmed footage of two local people who rely on the network for support with the community volunteers who give up their time so willingly. We look forward to the finished product. Joseph Pritchard , 93 years young was born in Glasgow Scotland, was recruited to the highland regiment of the Black Watch at 18 and served in Egypt. He later returned when demobbed and married his sweetheart, Jeanie. Joe became a Post Office Executive with the Royal Post of Glasgow and later a business advisor. In retirement, they emigrated to Australia in 1997, both played lawn bowls and were very active until his wife passed away in 2013. He now lodges at Josephine Frizza’s home in the beautiful Samford Valley as Joseph can no longer live alone. She was an industrial chemist for 25 years before she fell ill. Josephine is heavily reliant on the Network Support Group for transport for shopping and medical appointments as is Joseph. They make a great team and look after each other and enjoy the social benefits of each other’s company and that of the Network where they have made numerous lovely friendships.

You will have seen a call out on Facebook for a new secretary for the SNA as our current secretary Kris Martin is also the secretary of the Samford Support Network and Director of the Australian Animal Cancer Foundation beside full time work so had to relinquish the Secretary part of her work in the SNA Foundation Leadership Team.
