23.01.2022 With the focus of October being mental health we were delighted when some of our supporters wanted to give something back to our hard working mental health team. Mel Gholami and Rikki Marks from Planix Projects and Barry Woollam from Genus Advisory teamed up to give some amazing care hampers to our mental health, including Craig Klement, Caitlin Miller and Julia Rosenfeld (pictured). Thank you we’re so grateful for your generosity!

23.01.2022 A lot has changed in the 102 years since the guns fell silent on the Western Front but something that has always remained the same is the dedication of St Vincent’s staff to care for those in need. 48 St Vincent’s nurses served in World War 1, along with 16 medical staff. We are proud to have trained nurses such as Matron Alice Cashin, who was awarded the Golden Medal First Class of the Royal Red Cross, the highest honour which could be conferred on a woman.... #remembranceday2020 #LestWeForget

22.01.2022 Our heartfelt thanks to the Bourne family, who raised $12,500 in appreciation for the exceptional care the late Thomas Bourne received as a palliative patient at St Joseph’s Hospital, Auburn. In addition to this wonderful effort, Tom’s wife Margaret Bourne also donated an original painting, as a special thank you to the nurses and staff who cared for Tom. An inspiring fundraising result that we look forward to putting to good use!

21.01.2022 Before going on the immunotherapy regime, I was given 6 months to live. Now I am cancer free and feel better than ever. Theo Theodosi Cure Cancer and St Vincent’s Curran Foundation are proud to announce their three-year funding partnership supporting immunotherapy research at St Vincent's Hospital, Sydney. 62 year old Theo Theodosi, lung cancer survivor, is testament to the potential of immunotherapy. Diagnosed with Stage 3 lung cancer in 2017, Mr Theodosi owes his life to ...the recent advances made by researchers such as St Vincent’s oncologist, Dr Venessa Chin. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death, responsible for almost one in five cancer deaths in Australia - its impact is more relevant than ever during November #LungCancerAwarenessMonth. This new partnership will enable important advances in the management of advanced lung cancer and will enable clinicians to make more informed treatment choices for their patients. https://www.supportstvincents.com.au/cancercarepartnership/

21.01.2022 Cancer patients, doctors, scientists and 6-time Olympic medallist Michael Klim have all teamed up in a new book The Exercise Prescription, which reveals the latest evidence to support the importance of exercise while fighting cancer and disease, or exercise medicine. Exercise is emerging as one of the most powerful weapons in the disease-fighting arsenal to combat arthritis, cancer and other chronic diseases. All proceeds from book sales will go towards Australia’s first ...adaptable, free online exercise program for cancer patients at St Vincent's Hospital, Sydney in 2021. The book features one of our favourite community fundraisers, Siobhan O’Toole, Cancer Exercise Program, who talks about her experiences with the St Vincent’s prehab program, that helped her recover from triple negative breast cancer in 2018. 20.01.2022 Thank you to all our donors who have supported Tierney House over the last 8 years.

17.01.2022 Our dear Sister Ses. We are saddened at the passing of Sister Sesarina (Ses) Bau rsc and we would like to honour her memory and contribution as an inspiring leader at our Hospitals and Trustee of the St Vincent’s Curran Foundation. Sister Ses worked across St Vincent's for many years, starting her nursing career at our St Joseph's campus in Auburn in 1970, where she held senior appointments in clinical and community health, with a strong focus on surgery. In more recent time...s, Sister Ses served as Patient and Staff Support in our ICU and Heart Lung Clinic at St Vincent’s Hospital in Darlinghurst where she provided counsel and comfort for staff, patients and their loved ones when they needed it most. Sister’s healing ministry spanned over 50 years, including overseas postings to third world countries in the Pacific region. In June 2018, Sister Ses retired from St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney at the age of 84. In February this year Sister celebrated her Golden Jubilee; her 50th anniversary of religious profession. Sister Ses had a great love of the St Vincent’s Curran Foundation and was a proud trustee from 2010 to 2018. I feel a deep connection to the Foundation because of their commitment to the Sisters’ Mission and our Values and I am so grateful to be involved with an organisation that continues to help those in need. We are all extremely blessed and humbled to have worked with Sister Ses, whose role at the Foundation has been far greater than we can adequately describe, and today we are feeling a major void in her absence from our lives. We will miss her guidance, commitment, friendship and humour. May Sister Ses rest in eternal peace. Read more about Sister Ses here https://www.supportstvincents.com.au//our-stories/sr-sesa/
