09.01.2022 Nothing is more precious than the bond between a boy and his dog. Our dear friend Carter has been selected to receive a highly trained smart dog to assist and support Carter for many years to come. Carters pup will be ready for him in only 8 months, in this time Carter’s family really hopes to raise the $20,000 contribution for his Smart Pup. Carter has UNLIMITED energy!... He loves to run, jump, climb everything in sight. He absolutely has no fear and no sense whatsoever for personal safety. If the mood strikes him, he is extremely likely to climb over the fence and take off for a run to play in traffic. Running out in front of cars is one of his favourite things to do. Carter craves deep pressure and loves to get himself into the smallest tightest spaces possible. As he grows, he is constantly needing more and it will continue to get harder to help him regulate. Our hope is that an assistance dog would be able to help make Carter's life a little easier. Whether it be acting as a anchor if Carter tries to run or helping provide deep pressure when Carter gets overwhelmed in public situations or at home. Our main goal is to help Carter be as independent as possible, but still catering to his needs while helping him navigate this big wide world as much as we possibly can, in anyway that we can. Completion of Certificate III or Diploma in Child Care preferred. WWCC and First Aid will be required. Experience as a nanny or with children with challenging behaviour will be looked favourably upon. ... Monday to Friday 5:30am-9:30am and two flexible afternoons 3pm-9pm a week. 32 hours per week- additional overtime on school holidays, curriculum days and for medical appointments are available. You will be responsible for the care of both children, some food and meal preparation will be required, light cleaning will also be required. Both children currently attend different schools, you will be required to drop them both off at their school every morning and pick ups for the children may also be required on afternoon shifts. Afternoon and full day care will involve assisting children with their homework, getting the children involved in fun and educational activities both inside and outside of the home. The family has a complex history and is ideally looking for someone who can help provide some stability and support for the children and family.
