24.01.2022 FINALLY, we are starting to hear movement regarding safely opening Australia’s borders to a few countries. NZ, Japan, maybe Vanuatu... It’s still a ways off before we can access affordable international flights and feel confident that flying won’t result in a positive CoVid test, but we are inching forwards. So out of those three options, which one would interest you and in what order if more than one?

23.01.2022 Ooooohhhhh! Yes please!!!

19.01.2022 While we humans are reducing our incursions into wild spaces for recreational purposes, the species that call those areas home should finally getting a little breathing room. Instead, some areas -such a the Galapogus, Philippines and Vanuatu -are experiencing an invasion of illegal fishing fleets, which are depleting vital ecosystems that the world’s oceans rely on for replenishment of fish stocks. Please - despite the necessary local focus on Covid safety - keep supporting conservation efforts globally. #conservenature #whalesharks #oneplanet #protectourseas #oceanlife #seaphotography @supwildernessadventures

17.01.2022 Haven’t been paddling lately? Here’s some inspiration.

17.01.2022 I’m often asked if I’m terribly upset that I’ve had to mothball my business for an uncertain length of time. My answer surprises people. I have chosen to accept and be grateful for the many incredible people I befriended and helped as part of that fantastic period of my life. To live your dream is a rarity and I certainly lived mine to the fullest. To have many shared memories and belly laughs with beautiful people, I am truly grateful. Will SUP Wilderness Adventures close do...wn/ go under? We are extremely fortunate in our business structure. We have no debts. No fixed overheads that haven’t already been cancelled. No staff wages as everyone (including myself) worked for the pure joy of travel. We can simply rest in a cocoon, wait until it’s time, and we-emerge when it’s safe to do so, in a more beautiful and fantastic form. As a social enterprise, we however are sadly no longer in a position to donate, sponsor or support important social and environmental work. We used to do this through Two Llamas and apart from collecting donations for the rebuilding of kindergarten Vanuatu, Two Llamas has effectively closed down. As a child, my dreams were always filled with running away to tropical places where palm trees, white sand beaches and jelly blue seas were a feature. I wanted to work for Sobek as a rafting guide in Africa. That never happened but I did get in plenty of time playing in white water (and flat) with the paddle. So is SUP Wilderness Adventures done and dusted? The answer is no. I don’t think it’s in my blood to ever stop travelling, sharing belly laughs and helping others where I can. But I’m quietly confident that things will change - as they always do - and probably when we least expect it. We WILL paddle jelly blue seas together again. It’s just a matter of being patient along with everyone else on this little blue marble, and waiting until it is safe for everyone involved. Thank you to everyone who continues to have faith. Please stay safe and healthy as we take a ‘short’ intermission. Kiss your loved ones and know that you remain dear to my heart. X

17.01.2022 Come on Goldies! Who’s keen to give this a go?

17.01.2022 Oh my Lord!!! More exceptional images from the talented Courtney Welch

15.01.2022 Oh wow! Serious bucket list paddle!!! Would you dare? Have you done anything similar?

10.01.2022 Shopping is one of the delights that comes with travel to far flung lands and it’s the handcrafted goodies that you bring home that help keep those vivid memories alive. Buying from local artists also helps villagers earn a living, so it’s good to take the time to explore markets, workshops and galleries when paddling and travelling somewhere new. #sharks #woodenshark #indonesianart #sharkart #travelwell #buylocal #supportartists #suptravel @supwildernessadventures

10.01.2022 Although we can’t cross State borders or travel internationally right now, we’re still lucky to have an amazing back yard to explore. This is Hinze Dam in the Gold Coast. Where have you been paddling lately?

09.01.2022 Now this is serious skill!!!

05.01.2022 Two years ago. Just two years ago. How can that be? The world was so different.

04.01.2022 Hi all. I hope everyone’s coping ok with the adjusted reality of a CoVid world. We’ve been in hibernation as I don’t feel comfy taking bookings for trips that can’t be guaranteed as safe. As were a global business with international destinations and a tribe of clients scattered across the world. As such, each of us faces different constraints and concerns. Here in Australia, we have State borders closed and in some cases we can’t even travel outside of the city, suburb or ho...use. So we haven’t been offering local paddles either. Needless to say, trips in the first quarter of 2021 will not be running. I will leave them up though so everyone can see what will happen once we know when we can start rescheduling dates. If you have a desire to travel somewhere like Croatia, Vanuatu, NZ or the Philippines, and you are permitted by that country’s arrangements to travel to that location, please feel free to message us and we will connect you directly with our local guide. In the meantime, we will keep enjoying the Facebook memories that pop up daily and will live vicariously through the photos you share. Much love. Chantal

04.01.2022 It’s said monarchs migrate vast distances to summer in fairer climes, but who knew they also lived to paddleboard across the gin clear waters of Komodo a National Park? #komodonationalparkindonesia #indonesia #paddleboarding #suplife #suplifestyle #suptravel #suptour #monarchbutterfly #paddleboardingadventures #friendsforever @kimvargo @superangeabel @supwildernessadventures

04.01.2022 CORONAVIRUS TRAVEL UPDATE Hi everyone and Happy New Year! I thought it time to update our position re bookings... VACCINES While it’s amazing that vaccines are slowly being rolled out, those of us who are healthy will be low on the list of vaccination priority. That means, most SUP WA customers will have to wait to get vaccinated and - if you’re getting the dual-dose vaccine - immunity will take a while longer.... AUSSIE/NZ TRIPS While Australia and NZ remain largely CoVid free, our borders remain closed and occasional community transmission outbreaks create challenges to interstate travel, meaning domestic trips are not viable. INTERNATIONAL TRIP BOOKKNGS Our international schedule remains public, yet trips will not proceed while CoVid makes travel unsafe. As such, we are not accepting bookings that are secured with payment. If you are interested in joining a specific trip, simply JOIN the event on our Facebook page. That will ensure you receive a notification once there is news regarding that trip. BOOKINGS & REFUNDS We feel strongly that it would be highly unethical to encourage or accept new bookings until governments implement vaccination passports (or similar) and can assure us that a vaccinated traveller can not be a carrier of the virus. Anyone who has trip credit from 2019/2020 will have that credit carried over and can apply it to future SUP WA trips once it is once again safe to travel. No additional refunds will be made. (We are happy to supply a letter to your insurer to facilitate a claim if need be). Please email us if you have any questions. Thank you.

03.01.2022 Wherever you may be on this amazing planet, may your 2021 paddles be smoother than those of 2020. We thought these incredible pictures captured a world at peace, naturally beautiful and full of promise.

02.01.2022 What a glorious shot (and some very happy dogs). Where have you been paddling lately?

02.01.2022 We had the same magical experience with 7 manta rays in Komodo but no drone and only video from board level. In the Solomons, a mantra played with us for over an hour, constantly going under the board, then spy hopping to roll over and look at the paddler. The manta followed us everywhere and we couldn’t figure it out. I’m when I rolled the board up, I realised there was a manta motif underneath.

01.01.2022 This incredible adventure was part of a trip we did to Laos a couple of years back. You sleep in treehouses and move through the jungle by zip line. Amazing isn’t it! Love Laos!
