19.01.2022 Surat State School 'Prep for Prep' begins this Friday. If you have a child commencing Prep Year in 2021, why not come along to the school orientation program at 1:20-2.30pm in the Prep building? These programs help the children to become familiar with the school staff, environment and activities. Our program runs weekly and is a great step towards a successful transition into school life! 18.01.2022 Year 10 have been learning about exothermic chemical reactions. This demonstration, known as Elephant’s Toothpaste, shows the release of oxygen from Hydrogen Peroxide. Dry yeast acts as a catalyst to speed up the reaction. Heat is released as a by-product, warming the foam.

13.01.2022 We are excited to announce that we will be participating in the Day for Daniel FUNraiser this year on the 30th October. The Daniel Morcombe Foundation is committed to educating children about their personal safety and we are getting involved. By participating in the Day for Daniel FUNraiser we hope to raise community awareness for child safety and fundraise so the Foundation can continue its outstanding work. We’ll be sending an information note and brochure soon, so make sure to keep your eyes out!

13.01.2022 This term in Science, Year 2 have been creating toys from recycled materials that move with a push or pull force on different surfaces. They were very busy testing out their cool creations today!!



11.01.2022 Yesterday Surat State School students participated in The TRAX Sports Education Tour. The tour visits a number of schools in the South West Region and provides a chance for students from small and remote schools to be involved in a range of high quality sporting experiences. It aims to encourage children in rural areas to continue to participate in physical activity. Thank you to the TRAX staff who ensured the students had a wonderful day and thank you to Santos for their support.

09.01.2022 Today our high school students had the opportunity to do something a little out of the ordinary. They were lucky enough to participate in a Noosa Film Academy workshop with award winning cinematographer Greg Huglin and Andrea Huglin. What an experience!

02.01.2022 Earlier this week all our students had the wonderful cultural opportunity to work with Deadly Arthur in creating some very special new pieces for our school and to take home. There are many proud faces getting about and so there should be. The results were amazing!!
