23.01.2022 Remembering Chris Kyle. I don’t write much on my page. I normally use others words and statements to ensure the reader gains the education and support I hope for. My career has definitely changed me over time. Nothing changed in my service to others I was just taught and learnt to beat down the jock to protect the 9th grader. ... Serving others has been a lifelong journey, whether as a Paramedic or as a Trainer I have continued to give and try to help others. I don’t know who Chris Kyle was prior to becoming a SEAL. In the movie he was portrayed as a bass ass and was already fighting and protecting others long before it went to BUDS training. But when Chris became a SEAL he used that training to protect others. Chris thought more about his failures of not protecting those who died than the nightmares of those he killed. Chris was killed back in the USA helping a US Marine veteran struggling with PTSD. Until the end he gave all. As the song goes, all gave some and some gave all. A true hero. Not because of what he did in war but because of the meaning of his giving. Chris gave until his last day. I hope our life is more about helping other being good humans than taking and evil. Remembering a True Hero. Lest We Forget... We heard a round hit close. It felt like it was just 50 meters away it was loud, the building shook, we hit the ground and put on our body armour, Corporal Nixon said. Other camp Taji medical staff ran in and said to expect casualties. Over the course of the next few hours, casualities came through the tent, with both medics providing critical medical support to the wounded; prioritised by the severity of their injuries. 11.01.2022 Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) dictates that Massive Hemorrhage is the first treatment priority in battlefield trauma. If left untreated, a casualty of pe...netrating trauma can bleed to death in a matter of minutes. The more blood volume a casualty loses, the more likely complicationsnamely, coagulopathy and sequelae of end-organ hypoperfusionbecome. During the Care Under Fire (CUF) phase, the primary concern is any threat to life/safety in the form of enemy fire or environment. TCCC guidelines are as follows: Stop life-threatening external hemorrhage if tactically feasible. Direct casualty to control hemorrhage with self-aid, if able. Use a CoTCCC-recommended tourniquet for hemorrhage that is anatomically amenable to tourniquet application. Apply the tourniquet over the uniform, proximal to the bleeding site, tighten, and move the casualty to cover. Once the threat has been addressed and/or the casualty is in a safe location, the Tactical Field Care (TFC) phase begins. Assess for unrecognized hemorrhage and control all sources of bleeding. If not already done, use a CoTCCC-recommended limb tourniquet to control life-threatening external hemorrhage that is anatomically amenable to tourniquet use, or for any traumatic amputation. Apply directly to the skin, 2-3 inches above the bleeding site. If bleeding is not controlled with the first tourniquet, apply a second tourniquet, side-by-side with the first. Do you have the skills and the gear needed to treat a casualty in accordance with TCCC? Get trained. Get the gear.
