23.01.2022 Hi Folks, just this info in over night after talking to the Caltex Project Manager looking after the work at the Apollo Bay servo yesterday. Cheers ! Community Update 5 June 2020... Upgrade works and Ampol brand transition at Caltex Apollo Bay Ampol has this week received development approval from Colac Otway Shire Council to upgrade our Apollo Bay store. The store will close on 17 June with works to be delivered over 12-14 weeks. The project is vital to modernise the site and represents a significant investment in its long-term future to ensure the local community has access to a modern fuel and convenience store. The work will include the replacement of fuel tanks and lines, a new canopy and an upgraded shop to better meet customer needs. In addition, the work will deliver an exciting transition to the Ampol brand and will open as one of the first new Ampol sites in Australia. Given the extent of the works, unfortunately fuel service cannot be maintained on site while works are delivered. Instead, Ampol will be making HaloGo, a fuel delivery service, available to the local communities of Apollo Bay, Skenes Creek and Marengo two days per week starting on Friday 19 June. The delivery service will not include surrounding areas however customers from outlying properties will be able to arrange for fuel delivery to their vehicles at an agreed location in the townships. HaloGo, Australia’s first fuel delivery service, will be available to deliver Ampol fuels to customers on-demand anywhere in the local community on Tuesday and Friday each week between the hours of 10.00am and 10.00pm. Bookings for the service, which will include Unleaded 91, Vortex 98 and Vortex Diesel, need to be made ahead of time via an easy to use app downloadable from the Apple Store or Google Play. While the price of fuel delivered through the service will be competitive and comparable with other areas in regional Victoria, there will be a $5 delivery fee for pre-bookings to use the service. For those that need to access the service on the day in an emergency situation without a booking, the delivery fee will be a little higher. A dedicated phone number will be available for this service. As a proud Australian company, we are implementing this solution to ensure we can continue to serve the local community during the period which our Apollo Bay site will be out of service - we look forward to delivering these important works and welcoming local customers and businesses to our new Ampol store later in the year, said Jonathon Connor, Ampol’s Regional Manager, Victoria. Further information on accessing the new HaloGo delivery service and further updates on the project will be provided over the coming weeks.
