21.01.2022 This is what’s left of a slug that invaded one of my hives. Once the bees kill the slug they encase it in a substance called propolis, which they make from the resin of trees, to stop any infection in the hive from the rotting corpse. Essentially the bees mummify the slug by encasing it in an airtight seal.
