24.01.2022 Hi families! I’ve had a few parents query our tennis fees. Please see the link below: http://sptc.com.au/coaching-lesson-policies-procedures-faq/

22.01.2022 Junior holiday clinics.... all info on the link below. http://sptc.com.au/holiday-clinics/

19.01.2022 Our latest challenge from QLD Govt & Tennis QLD! Ushering in clients ensuring only a maximum of 10 people on site at any one time! .. Insert the sound of crickets.. Yup I see how this is consistent and fair

18.01.2022 TIGHTER RESTRICTIONS ENFORCED OVERNIGHT! BOOOOM!! Just like a massive Kyrgios first serve down the middle.. The email we received overnight from Tennis Queensland has taken us completely by surprise! In short the email informed all tennis venues and clubs of even tighter restrictions now only allowing a maximum of 10 people at any venue at any one time!.. Only 10 People at the club at once!! ... Late last week we received an email stating we could have 10 people per court? Our plans of recommencing all our coaching programs and social tennis next week have been squashed. Due to the tighter restrictions it very much limits our ability to do this safely and it is a nightmare to try to coordinate. To all our members whom have been contacted earlier this week regarding recommencement of programs, please disregard these plans. We apologise for any inconvenience. No squads, group coaching, or any form of internal comp/social tennis will commence until further notice. Singles and doubles play still permitted but bookings are essential. No spectators or socialising allowed. Anyone not playing is asked to stay off sight. Onlookers will be asked to leave. To those of you we welcomed back this week after months away and whom enjoyed their first session of cardio tennis, group coaching, social tennis, and unrestricted doubles matches.. we are devastated to inform you that until further notice these formats once again must stop. Tennis Queensland is apparently just the messenger. They have been instructed by Qld Government to issue these ‘updated’ and tighter restrictions. TQ has requested an exemption for tennis and will continue to work closely with QLD Govt and notify us of any changes. Despite this news SPTC will once again remain open for those wishing to play. Our venue will remain open from 7am-10pm Mon-Sun (as it did during the initial COVID19 pandemic) however all players MUST contact us prior to accessing our grounds to secure a timeslot for match play. We will only be allowing the regulated 10 people on site at any one time. All social distancing and hygiene regulations remain the same and in place. I’m honestly starting to think my ‘tin foil hat wearing friends’ may be right.. In my opinion these tighter restrictions at this point have very little to do with public health and safety and everything to do with political and financial gain. But hey.. u can still swing by Aldi and stand with the other 30 odd people coughing on you! Cause that’s ok! With mental health at the forefront We are dedicated to be here for our community and will continue to provide a safe, healthy environment for our members and guests. We look forward to seeing you all... (individually and very spread out).. again soon. Steve Starr Director/Head Coach

14.01.2022 Please ensure all players and visitors sign in when visiting our club due to new government law. We thank you for your co operation.

12.01.2022 Morning all.. weather update Fri 10/4 7.30am.. All 7am& 8am sessions/bookings have been cancelled due to continued showers.. However it looks like it might be clearing.. so any 8.30-9am onwards sessions contact us for court playability updates.. See you all soon

01.01.2022 Who is welcome here.. follow these guidelines..

01.01.2022 Fun fact.. during the initial COVID 19 Social distancing Restrictions.. and to better help our communities combat mental & physical health... SPTC was the ONLY tennis club on the Gold Coast that stayed open. Always here for our tennis community, friends and families. Open 7am-10pm every day of the week. Currently singles and one on one coaching only. Strict social distancing and hygiene regulations enforced. From my family to yours please stay safe and continue making smart decisions.

01.01.2022 By far the most common thing said to me this past week has been.. ‘Thankyou’.. ‘Thankyou for being open’.. ‘Thankyou for giving me a safe place to exercise’.. ‘Thankyou for letting us have some fun’.. ‘Thankyou for letting us be here we’ve been going crazy at home!’ This is why I made the decision to ‘go against the grain’ and keep SPTC here! Obviously none of our social tennis, fixtures, group coaching, squads, cardio tennis, in-house comps, (anything involving more than 2... people) is operating. That huge part of my club/business is now dead. Our canteen is closed. We are however able to provide one on one private coaching and people are welcome to come and play singles. Spectators are not permitted and players need to follow guidelines whilst here. I am humbled and blessed to be in a position to provide a safe environment that.. IS CURRENTLY DEEMED SAFE BY OUR NATIONS LEADERS AND HEALTH EXPERTS .. To all those families and professional people.. the responsible people, people following all current social distancing and hygiene guidelines looking for a safe place to exercise! Thankyou!! Until our government deems it unsafe, WE WILL BE HERE FOR OUR FAMILIES & COMMUNITY!! How’s your mental and physical health going? The COVID19 situation is certainly changing our lifestyles. It is making us all rethink what we’ve taken for granted. But one thing is certain.. Tennis is not dead! It is alive and well at SPTC! We’ll get through this together as a community. Steve Starr
