20.01.2022 COMPOSITION OF THE HUMAN BODY According to ancient yoga believes the human body is composed of the five elements: 1. Akasa (space) representing spirit which co...ntrols the liver, gall bladder and the nervous system. 2. Vayu (air) representing prana also known as the deity of life, controls the lungs, large intestine and respiratory system. 3. Tejas (fire) representing energy, creativity and personal power, controls the heart, the small intestine and the circulatory system. 4. Apas (water) representing will, controls the kidneys, bladder and excretory system. 5. Prithvi (earth) representing the structure of the physical body, controls stomach, pancreas, spleen and digestive system. There are specific asanas designed to work on specific elements, related organs and systems in the human body. A knowledgeable practitioner of yoga should know how to organized the asanas for better results. Along the way ancient yogis learned that the practice of asana without breath control was unproductive, they learned to manage Vayu (air) first by becoming aware and exerting control over their respiratory system. They understood that by properly managing their breath during the practice of asana they could control all the other systems including their functions effectively. This combination of asana and breath control brought Hatha yoga to another level. #mindfulness #awareness #yoga #tonysanchezyoga See more

14.01.2022 YOGA AND THE HEART The heart is a muscular organ designed to pump blood through the vessels in the circulatory system. The blood is the transporter of nutrients..., oxygen, carbon dioxide and hormones to and from the cells in the body to provide nourishment, stabilize temperature and fight disease. The physical condition of your heart dictates the level of health you experience. Even though yoga is considered isometric exercise and not cardiovascular exercise it strengthens and develops the heart in a gradual and progressive way. These benefits are generated by combining poses that will speed up heart rate such as Balancing Stick (Tuladandasana) and Bow Pose (Dhanurasana) with poses that decrease the heart rate such as Half Tortoise (Ardha Kurmasana) and Savasana (Corpse pose). Challenging and then relaxing the heart will stimulate and strengthen the heart tissue. Most yoga poses in combination with proper breathing can lower blood pressure and quiet the nervous system. #yoga #wellness #heart #tonysanchezyoga See more

02.01.2022 CULTIVATING ENERGY DEVELOPING THE BODY We all know physical and mental energy is the currency of the the day. We also know that the best way to cultivate and n...urture this energy is by taking care of the body properly with a healthy well balanced diet an a good yoga practice. I believe that there are no exceptions to this rule. Remember not all postures are equally beneficial for everyone, some are better suited than others and no body can build their body and their mind without a well balanced diet based on his or her personal needs. #yoga #mindfulness #wellness #tonysanchezyoga See more
