24.01.2022 It was a huge weekend for all of our lifesavers across the state. In particular, we wish to recognise the courageous efforts of West Beach Surf-Lifesaving Club's Marcus Morgan and Rhys Highett who conducted a major off-duty rescue at Goolwa yesterday, while at the beach with their families. The young members swam 500m to save a 13-year-old boy who had been swept out while boogie boarding more than 2km outside the flags. They recovered the young swimmer in trouble by placing ...him on another boogie board until other lifesaving assets arrived, including the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter - Adelaide. The 13-year-old swimmer is now recovering, thanks to Marcus and Rhys' efforts. We wish to thank all our our volunteer lifesavers for the work that they do to keep South Australian's safe. A timely reminder to always swim between the flags and the importance of our member training.
