25.01.2022 The surf community is standing up right across the country like we never have before. Saturday the 27th is Tasmania's chance to show up and protect it. #fightforthebight

25.01.2022 Excuse the language, but the communities of ocean lovers who have fought so hard for so long won’t accept this. #fightforthebight continues.

24.01.2022 Equinor's own modelling shows that it's possible that King Island could be entirely encircled in an oil spill, including waves like Martha's. Despite the oil well and the supposed profits being in South Australia, the potential damage to Tasmania is significant. - Leanna Mishull, The Australia Institute.

21.01.2022 Mermaid With a Message: "In May 2016, I will create a Guinness World Record when I paddle 1000km from Newcastle to Noosa! I'm doing this paddle to raise awareness and funds for the White Ribbon Foundation, PACA (paddle against child abuse) and Surfrider Foundation. All of these are areas very close to heart and things I have endured and overcome. While the ocean appears scary and off limits to some it has become my safe place that has kept me grounded..." 20.01.2022 Heath Joske is legendary surfer from ground zero of Equinor's drilling plans. Fired up from this attack on the place he calls home, he's become a key activist in the #fightforthebight. He's in Norway as we speak at the Equinor AGM with others trying to put a stop to this project before it gets any further. Good on you Heath!

18.01.2022 North West Boardriders standing up for their part of the world! So inspiring to see so many people coming together and getting active to #fightforthebight

17.01.2022 Today was unreal - a big thanks to everyone who turned up this morning, and the afternoon crew of legends at Clifton. It's so amazing to see a community of ocean lovers so willing to look after what they love. Our message couldn't be clearer: reject this proposal, and start looking after the ocean! This is just the start! #fightforthebight... 15.01.2022 Equinor's own plans show that a catastrophic spill could stretch from WA to NSW - including Tassie's own coastlines. What would that mean for our lives in the sea? Drilling in the BIght is not worth the risk!

13.01.2022 Promises to be well worth a look

13.01.2022 A surfer's board covered in oil from the 1969 Santa Barbara spill. It was hard to imagine it ever happening then, but it did. It's hard to imagine it happening today, but it could. It's simply not worth the risk. Join us in two weeks as we say NO to drilling in the Bight! ... #fightforthebight Red Herring Surf Surfing Tasmania The Wilderness Society Tasmania TAMP Tasmanian Alliance Marine Protection Sea Shepherd Tasmania Park Beach Board Riders INC South Arm Board Riders Inc

12.01.2022 "We are caretakers of our planet Earth. We need to respect the oceans and take care of them. This world breathes life, looks after us, and gives us everything we need. Let's stop abusing our world, stop the destructions of the oceans and our earth. Let's start by helping each other, and working together. There is still time."... Uncle Bunna Lawrie, a Mirning Elder and Whale Dreamer from the Nullarbor coast. A caring, generous and inspirational human who is one of the leaders of the campaign to protect the Bight.

12.01.2022 Nick Green was out in the water at our paddle out last week and took some special photos. So great to have the support of legends like Nick.

11.01.2022 Congrats to Stu Gibson Photography and Mikey Brennan! This shot from the water at Shippies was selected as the 2019 Nikon Best Surf Photo of the Year!

06.01.2022 Count down is on! See you all in three days time. Remember to only enter the water if you are confident, look after each other in and out of the water, come along early to paint up a sign or bring your own, and let's make sure we leave the place clean! Parking can be found at Sandown Park.

04.01.2022 BAM! News just in that NOPSEMA has knocked back Equinor's plan to drill in the Bight! Ocean lovers across the country and the world put in almost 30 000 submissions, tens of thousands of us paddled out to stick up for the sea, and 17 local councils have listened to their community and have officially opposed the drilling. It's not the end, but a significant set back for the drillers! Be proud!

02.01.2022 Not only could they reach Sydney, they could impact on huge stretches of Tassie coastline and completely surround King Island. Equinor's plans in the Bight is not worth the risk.

01.01.2022 Did you catch this segment about the #fightforthebight on The Project last week? Share this far and wide so that all Tasmanians know just what is going on, how it can impact on our island, and that on the 27th of April we're going to have our voices heard!

01.01.2022 Congratualtions to everyone that made this the epic morning it was! Please share this video far and wide so Tasmanians can understand that this is a Tasmanian issue, and that we need to work together as ocean-loving communities to prevent it from going ahead.
