Having seen first hand the hard work put in by both Shaun White and Scotty James (and their amazing support crews) over the years, the results couldnt be more deserved. Well done guys! Well done!

24.01.2022 Always a privilege to be able to work with the best of the best in the snow world, and the last two weeks in New Zealand working with Shaun White for spring camp were no exception. The dual Olympic gold medalist and X Games gold medal record holder (13!!!) is used to taking things to the extreme, including his lake recovery sessions. Definitely not warm...

19.01.2022 Life is currently not quite as we know it. But the Fluid Movement exercise sessions are still going strong... just via zoom rather than in person, and often with the whole household involved. These sessions are designed to reverse the negative effects of sedentary modern life on the body, so as to allow you to keep playing in the real world the way youd like. Although real world play may be a little limited at present for some, modern life and screen time are at an all time ...high. Join the Fluid Movement fun to improve your mobility, strength and postural imbalances through the combined practice of clinical pilates, yoga, gymnastics, breath work, and self release techniques. Plus a little bit of banter thrown in for good measure. No equipment is required, but if you do have rollers, balls, rings etc at home, options will be provided for you to utilise them for some of the exercises. Three weekly sessions are now available: MONDAYS 6-7pm WEDNESDAYS 6-7pm FRIDAYS 6.30-7.30am And you can choose to book for the 10 week term, or just pay week by week. 15.01.2022 Its been nearly 10 years since I first had the privilege of working with this special lady. And some things just never change. Great to be working once again with Torah Bright over the past week here at Copper Mountain as she shows shes still as awesomely inspiring and dominant as ever, and of course not afraid to move to the beat of her own drum.



14.01.2022 A world away from winter and water sports, but over the last two years Ive been having some fun working with the boys from the GWS Giants - trying to improve their body awareness and movement efficiency by getting them to move in ways they arent normally exposed to in their on field and strength and conditioning training. This video was shot at the start of preseason, and I have to say that their gymnastics skills have improved unbelievably since then. Handstands, somersaults, even a few doubles. They also seem to be doing ok at football too...

12.01.2022 Great to be back in New Zealand working with this guy. Danny Davis is one of the nicest guys youll ever meet and has one of the most positive outlooks around. All the more inspiring when you think of the injuries he has sustained and overcome over the years... spinal fusion, pelvic fusion, and fractured femur to name a few. Yet despite the metal work, the two time Winter X-Games gold medalist has still got some serious bend and style.

07.01.2022 Unfortunately, this is an all too common story amongst many of the pipe and park snowboarders and skiers Ive worked with over the years - some high profile, some low profile, all worrying. Although our medical concussion protocols and management continue to improve every year, the forces sustained when an athlete falls from the sky to the bottom of an icy pipe are by no means small. Wear a helmet peoples. And dont play down the signs of concussion.

But things in the Half Pipe world dont always go to plan... as Scotty Jamess slam in the lead up to Dew Tour shows. Falling from the sky to the coping hurts. Quite a lot. But Scotty is as tough and determined as they come. Heres a glimpse of what went down (and then back up again) this week...

06.01.2022 ACL injuries are definitely not ideal. But they dont have to be the end of the world for your active life, as lovely Anna Segal has shown. Hats off to Anna who managed to come 4th in Slope Style at Sochis 2014 Winter Olympics, minus her ACL. Working with Anna during this period was one of the most challenging and confronting, yet ultimately rewarding experiences for me as a sports physio. Now exploring a different realm of skiing outside of competition, but definitely still charging (with a new ACL in place) - check out Annas new skiing pursuit Finding the Line...

06.01.2022 The internet is filled these days with various exercise programs promising your body the world. Im all for getting bodies moving, however I often feel that many of the injuries I see as a therapist could have been prevented if not just better technique had been implemented, but better programming. 06.01.2022 After a heavy slam with the coping during Dew Tour training, and a lot of subsequent physio over the past few days to get back to moving well again, its great to see Scotty James put down three consistently dominant runs and be back on the podium where he belongs.

06.01.2022 And were back!!! We survived a whole term on zoom, which was definitely entertaining in some ways... we got to know each others pets, children, and pyjamas. But for those of you who found it all a bit tricky due to being squashed in awkward skinny corridors, freezing cold in your garage, jumped on by your kids and pets, or just downright missed the usual banter filled sessions that zoom just cant facilitate... fear not. 05.01.2022 Working with skiing sisters Nat Segal and Anna Segal over the years has been everything from a privilege, to a challenge (in a good way), to a hell of a lot of fun. They are two of the hardest working athletes around who have both had their share of injury set backs, but always with nothing but smiles a plenty on display. The last few years have been no exception, as theyve worked the hard yards filming around the globe to produce their film - Finding the Line. 03.01.2022 This may be my favourite way to practice social distancing... but my second favourite was discovered last week after moving all weekly timetabled Fluid Movement exercise sessions online. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, an incredibly loud mid-session torrential downpour, and a few participants being attacked with foam rollers by their children (@76kaz, @stormboy68), Id have to say the sessions were a lot of fun. So we may be physically distant, yes. But socially distant... n...ot so much. It seems not even COVID-19 can stop us from keeping your bodies moving and the banter flying as usual.
