24.01.2022 Repost: @wwf More than 10 million hectares of Australian land have been burned, and over 1 billion animals have been killed. As many as 8,400 koalas have perished in New South Wales alone. The WWF emergency fund is providing care for injured wildlife and supporting the response, recovery and restoration teams. Head to WWFs page on Instagram and follow the link in their bio to donate.

20.01.2022 What better way to start the day than with puppies!? Congratulations to Giselle and Redmond on the new arrivals . Repost: @seeingeyedogsaustralia. Giselle (chocolate Lab) and Redmond (yellow Lab x Golden Retriever) are the proud parents of 4 pups (3 black females, 1 black male) who arrived naturally on 17th February 2020. 18.01.2022 The weeks to come are going to be strange and challenging for our Head Office team as our normal operations have been stopped temporarily and we are having to work remotely from home. We are taking advantage of the time we have and setting out to upgrade and enhance all of our systems, cross-train and up-skill our employees, and work on projects we normally wouldnt have the time for. Were looking at this difficult time as an opportunity to develop and grow as a business. Were confident that our wonderful office team will kick goals over these next few months and that Surge will come back stronger and more resilient than ever.

17.01.2022 Surge HQ is moving! Its been 3 years since Surge first launched. We started with a tiny team here in Melbourne and quickly expanded across Australia and into New Zealand. We have started working with so many new Subcontractors and Clients, and our team has continued to grow. Our Head Office was bursting at the seams with the rapid growth, so in just over a week we will be moving into a brand new office and we absolutely cannot wait! Stay tuned for photos of our new home

17.01.2022 Hows your Hump Day looking?

16.01.2022 Repost: @childfundaustralia Clean water is essential for nutrition, hygiene and health. Infectious diseases like COVID-19 threaten the health and wellbeing of vulnerable children in developing countries where health infrastructure is poor. Your gift of a hand washing station can give children in need access to clean water and training on using soap and toothbrushes, significantly reduces rates of disease and ensuring they stay clean and healthy.... 15.01.2022 In times like these it is so important that each and every one of us do our part and follow instruction. No one is immune, no one is safe. Stay home unless leaving is absolutely necessary. Keep your distance from others when you are out in public, practice good hygiene, and dont touch anything in the supermarket unless you intend to buy it. Be respectful and courteous to those who are still working in essential services, and appreciate the legends risking their lives each ...and every day on the frontline. During this lockdown support one another. Check in with your neighbours and grandparents, give them a call and see if they need anything. Stay in touch with your friends and family, host Cyber Sippers on the weekends and share some drinks over Skype. Were all in this together

15.01.2022 Repost: doctorswithoutborders . This little one is Lutumba. She arrived with a fever, cough, and diarrhea - she had measles. We quickly treated her at the Muanda Measles Treatment Center (CTR) in Democratic Republic of Congo. In 2019, we treated more than 50,000 people for measles in DRC and vaccinated 816,000 kids. ... Tomorrow on IGTV, our experts talk about the worlds largest measles outbreak, and why the vaccine is SO IMPORTANT for people in DRC and around the world to access. photo: Solen Mourlon/MSF #doctorswithoutborders #measles #DRC #outbreak #disease #vaccineswork #health #treatment See more

15.01.2022 Repost: @unicef . Over the past nine years, schools and hospitals have been bombed, families have been torn apart, and young lives have been lost. Even in areas far away from the frontlines, families are struggling to feed their children and rebuild their lives. For those responsible for this collective failure in Syria: History will judge you harshly. Henrietta Fore, UNICEF Executive Director calls for an end to hostilities and improved access after a two-day visit to northwest Syria with David Beasley, @wfp Executive Director. UNICEF and the World Food Programme are working jointly in Syria to help prevent and treat malnutrition, strengthen data collection, and provide nutritious food to keep children in school. #ChildrenUnderAttack UNICEF/Sanadiki

This photo was taken during a four-day lifesaving search and rescue operation in the Central Mediterranean. 356 vulnerable men, women and children were taken onboard our rescue ship the Ocean Viking. . Among the survivors were many bearing the harrowing signs of physical and psychological violence experienced during their journey through Libya.... . 07.01.2022 Repost: @environment_victoria Where I live, theres been a drop in insect populations and trees dying from lack of water. Last year we had two fire seasons. Kay Schieren, 71, lost his home in W Tree, Gippsland in the first days of January. The retired bank clerk, engineer and forklift driver says that he has seen the signs of climate change building over many years.... He says one of the most noticeable signs of climate change has been the loss of the presence of insects around his property. In the past when collecting firewood I used to see bull ants all the time. Last five years Ive been lucky to see one. Even mice and rats are disappearing. Theres a dying off. Its bizarre. He says Australia needs a long-term generational plan to tackle climate change, implemented by a non-political process and guided by science. Weve got accelerating disasters from now on. Its not a political problem, its a problem for the whole community. We are facing the devastating effects of climate change nowThe changes have been very, very significant. We need a whole new attitude to our biosphere." : @doug_gimesy See more

06.01.2022 Repost: UNICEF The world’s response to #COVID19 is as strong as the weakest health system. Even as health workers meet the urgent needs posed by COVID-19, they are also helping bring new life into the world. As health services are stretched by coronavirus, it’s more important than ever to invest in and protect life-saving maternal, newborn and child health services. UNICEF/UNI312805/Dejongh
