24.01.2022 How amazing is this video recognising the volunteering efforts of our Dr Tony Best and his friend Matt? It's the dedication of such a massive number of volunteers that make events like the ironman possible for our town.

23.01.2022 + Welcome to the practice Dr Samantha McDonald + Dr Samantha McDonald has moved back to Busselton after completing her medical degree at the University of Western Australia in 2014 and GP fellowship in 2019. Samantha is a GP Obstetrician and her special interests includes antenatal care, women’s, paediatric and sexual health. Samatha is available 5 days a week and appointments can be booked now.

22.01.2022 Dr Tony Best’s interest in sports medicine has seen him travel the globe volunteering at various ironman and toughmudder events. He has been coordinating the medical tent at Busselton’s ironman for the past 12 years with the help of our receptionists, nurses and volunteers from around town. Volunteering and giving back to the community is very important to us all at Surgery 82. This is a photo of a few of Surgery 82 Doctors at last years event.

22.01.2022 Meet Dr Luke Cresswell. Luke joined our practice in 2010 and became a partner of S82 in 2015. Luke has just attained a professional certificate of skin cancer medicine and is now offering skin checks and skin cancer removals in our theatre room on site. Luke works full time with appointments available now.

22.01.2022 Our doctors are now offering IV Iron infusions for any patient who has proven iron deficiency and is not tolerating oral supplements. The symptoms of iron deficiency are very broad and include tiredness, lethargy, dizziness, headaches and heart palpitations. Iron deficiency is on the rise and can affect as many as 1 in 10 women. 20.01.2022 + FLU VACCINES + The 2018 flu vaccines have arrived at Surgery 82. We will be offering free flu clinics throughout April and May for the following categories - + anyone over the age of 65 will be offered the new stronger flu vaccine + anyone suffering from a chronic disease eg asthma, emphysema, COPD, cardiac conditions, immunosuppression, renal diseases, diabetes. + children aged between 6 months and 5 years. ... + Indigenous people of any age. If you do not fall within these categories but would still like a flu vaccine, You are more than welcome to attend our clinic but the charge will be $20. 19.01.2022 Meningococcal vaccinations The government has recently updated its vaccination schedule and all children aged 1-5 and 15-19 are eligible for free meningococcal vaccines (strains A,C,W,Y). Serotype W has increased in incidence since 2013 and is now the main serotype causing menigococcal disease. 40 Cases of meningococcal septicaemia were confirmed in WA last year and the main age groups affected are the <5 and 15-19yos. If your child missed their vaccine at school they ca...n get a free vaccine at our clinic. Our stock arrives tomorrow and all children in these age groups are welcome to make an appointment for the vaccine. If your child received their meningococcal C vaccine at 12 months, they are still eligible for the free A,C,W,Y vaccine. Meningococcal B vaccines are not covered under the free schedule but your doctor can prescribe this if you wish. Please phone 97524688 to make an appointment. 17.01.2022 + SKIN CHECKS + Skin checks are available at Surgery 82. We also have a theatre room on location where we can perform minor skin lesion removals for a small fee ($33 for pensioners and $66 for non pensioners). Please note that the below images are quite advanced skin cancers. It is so important to keep an eye out for NEW, DIFFERENT or CHANGING moles.. as they do not always look like the following. If in doubt, get it checked out!

17.01.2022 training practice Surgery 82 is an accredited training practice which means from time to time you may see medical students shadowing our doctors and assisting with procedures. We also have GP Registrars joining our practice every semester. A GP registrar is a qualified doctor who has then decided to specialise as a GP. We currently have 3 female GP registrars working with us - Dr Emma Kempster, Dr Imke Van der Merwe and we welcome Dr Jemma Buultjens to the team this week.

10.01.2022 well women’s clinic Women's Health Checks are now available at our Capel practice with Dr Erin Smith. Our Capel clinic is located at 21 Properjohn Rd and appointments can be made by phoning 97158080. The national pap smear guidelines changed late last year and the new cervical screening is now available free for all women aged 25-74.
