08.01.2022 Survival Solutions is committed to providing ongoing support for our clients and as such, we are very proud to introduce to you our affiliate certification company; Fire Certification Services. As of July 2020, the Fire Protection Association of Australia and the NSW Government will enact much-needed reform to the fire safety industry which will restrict service providers in their ability to sign off on the essential fire safety measures listed on a Fire Safety Schedule and s...ubsequently an Annual Fire Safety Statement. However, as an accredited assessor, supported by an FPAA Accreditation Number, Fire Certification Services can assess and (pending the outcome of the assessment) sign off on listed measures of an AFSS. This is an assessment-based service and one that can be carried out in conjunction with your current service provider. We would be pleased to work with any service providers in order to ensure that all Annual Fire Safety Statements are submitted to council without delay.

03.01.2022 During these turbulent times, our fire safety is just as important as ever. In accordance with the EPAA Regulation 2000 Division 6 Clause 182 a building owner must not fail to maintain essential fire safety measures. This means it is an offence under the Regulation to not have your equipment serviced. Your insurance company may choose to not cover you in the event of an incident. This could result in civil claims and possible criminal proceedings against the building own...er. We have received an Important Notice from FPA Australia (Fire Protection Association of Australia). FPA’s purpose is to enable a safer community where the loss of life, injury, and damage to property and the environment are eliminated through effective fire protection. The Association recognises that the maintenance of essential fire safety systems, equipment and features in buildings is critical to the safety of building occupants, property and the environment. FPA Australia also recognises that we are each responsible for our individual and collective wellbeing. With this in mind, FPA Australia advocates for the continuity of essential fire safety maintenance by competent fire protection industry professionals across Australia where safe to do so. For the sake of clarity, essential fire safety maintenance includes all work (including routine service activities and repairs) to ensure the reliability, integrity, functionality and performance of essential fire safety systems, equipment and life safety features in a building or structure that have been installed principally for the protection of life or property. Unless specifically referenced by Governments, FPA Australia believes that essential fire safety maintenance carried out by the fire protection industry is essential for the health and safety of occupants of buildings from the effect from fire. Our advice to you, therefore, is to continue to maintain your essential fire safety measures in accordance with the regulation.
