23.01.2022 HOW is it September already?! We can't believe that the school holidays are almost here again! Where's that pause button when you need it... We know juggling ...family-time with everything else going on can be really hard, and finding new ways to keep the kids entertained can be a challenge! We feel very lucky here at Visit Fraser Coast to have so much holiday fun on our doorstep; family-friendly beaches, whales, and plenty of space to spread out and get outside. 18.01.2022 Due to the current situation with COVID 19 we have had to make some difficult choices in regards to Susan River Homestead. We are sure that 2020 has impacted everyone differently and with a sad heart we have come to the decision that we are also needing to make changes. Unfortunately, we will be closing the Homestead’s RESTAURANT for the unforeseeable future from the 23rd of December 2020. We feel that due to the worldwide pandemic and not being able to ascertain staff, we ar...e no longer able to continue delivering a level of service which we have provided for the last 42 years. Therefore, as of the 23rd of December 2020, home cooked hearty breakfast’s will be the only meal available to be enjoyed at the resort, bookings are essential. Guests of the resort are invited to utilise our fully functioning communal kitchen, dining spaces and/or BBQ areas situated around the homestead. We will be implementing a messaging system for our phone line so if you would like to contact us please leave a message, email us on [email protected] or message us on Facebook/Instagram. One of the family members will be in contact at our earliest convenience to book you in or answer your query. Rest assured these are the only changes that we are making at this time. Horses are still being ridden, beds are still being slept in and stars are still being slept under so come for a ride, stay or camp!! We are sincerely sorry for any inconvenience that may be caused by these changes. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any queries or would like to make any changes in regards to your booking.

15.01.2022 The Infamous Team, who have now become another branch on the extended McLean family tree are leaving to head up North in the coming days. It has been such a privilege to have this incredible group stay with us over the last 5 months and to be able hear their stories of life on the road. We have been lucky enough to watch them train and prepare for the new show as well as take them horse riding and whip them at Gel Ball. They will be sorely missed but we know that they will return one day as this is their ‘home’ now too. @ Susan River Homestead

This is the first increase in 8 years as we have tried to keep the cost down so everyone can enjoy these beautiful animals. However, insurance and the costs of caring for the horses has increased more than expected. For Susan River Homestead to be able to carry on sharing our horses with the public, means we have needed to increase our prices.
