24.01.2022 RENOVATION Still loving working on the transformation of this 20+ year old family home. When we took this project on, the bones of the interior still looked good so only minor structural changes were required, but some major aesthetic changes to the home were needed. We’ve demolished a non-structural wall to open up the main living space, laid new oak floorboards, painted, modernised the lighting, designed a new kitchen & fireplace and we’re currently furnishing the living ...space. The next stage will be the renovation of the Bathrooms, Laundry and Powder Room. The clients want to feel inspired in their home, with a feeling of simplicity and calm and we‘re continuing to work on this with our choice of colours and finishes. 19.01.2022 COLOUR SCHEME Hampton Project. We’re very excited to be in the final stages of kitchen and bathroom installation at our Bayside clients project. Yesterday afternoon was spent Moorabbin Marble checking the slabs and templates for all the benchtops.... This is a closeup of the beautiful Super White Dolomite marble from CDK Stone we chose for the curved Kitchen island, Rangehood canopy and long stone Living room hearth. All to be contrasted with oak flooring, charcoal accents and softened by silver linen sheer curtains from Ian Frood Pty Ltd. 19.01.2022 PENDANT Sandringham Project: This bespoke pendant design for above our clients dining table is almost complete. As with all works of art, it’s evolving and on my visit to the designer Studio ilanel to view it, I decided it needed another element to finish it off.... This slim brass disc will be threaded between the Navy and Amber hand blown glass spheres and the pendant will soon grace our client’s dining space. It will replace the old pendants that need to go and be paired with the client’s large New York artwork. 18.01.2022 VICTORIAN Richmond Project. Loving working with my client to bring back the bones of this Victorian Workers cottage and at the same time adding a contemporary renovation at the back. We’re honouring the C.1890’s period while adding some practical touches. ... In the narrow hallway we’ve highlighted the traditional hallway arch and decorative corbels in white, then added skylights either side of the arch to let natural light in. Retaining the Victorian heritage features and leading the eye down the hall to discover the contemporary renovation beyond. 11.01.2022 THE BLOCK Auction Day Wow.. what an incredible result for The Block and congratulations to all contestants for the outstanding results achieved at auction. Jimmy and Tam’s 50’s house took out the top result, selling for $4,256,000, an all time Block record.... Taking the 50’s era style right through from the front facade to the Palm Springs style gardens and creating a contemporary interior with a luxurious feel and 50’s touches throughout. 10.01.2022 COASTAL HOME We’re pulling together a contemporary coastal vibe this week to furnish a client’s home away from home on the Surf Coast. This week I took the client showroom shopping to find out what he liked. ... Starting from the floor up we’ve chosen a natural hand knotted wool rug from Armadillo with charcoal diamond pattern to set the foundation for the living room scheme. To follow.. more natural beachy tones in the rattan oak framed chairs with grey leather sling backs from Jardan grouped around a limestone and oak round table. All sitting on a round charcoal braided rug. Next.. the comfy laid back sofa from Arthur G followed by coffee tables, floor lamp, pendant lighting, art and more as the style evolves and reveals itself! My client’s priceless comment: This is a real process... whoever thought you could furnish a house in a day? 07.01.2022 Beaumaris Project. Here’s a video progress peek of where we’re at our clients’ Beaumaris project. The contemporary clean lines, pale greys, white and light oak in the kitchen colour scheme gives off a Scandi feel. ... The idea is to continue these colours into the adjacent living space then we’ll add depth and punch with stronger colours including teal, turquoise and navy in the beautiful rug. Still to come...sheer silver grey linen curtains, a comfy sofa & chaise and feature lighting. Like all projects, this colour started with a loose Moodboard of finishes put together after several showroom visits with our client to source the look she wanted to achieve.
