25.01.2022 Shaun sent his Showa compression assemblies in because they wouldn’t hold pressure when assembling his forks. We supplied and replaced the free piston seals and shipped them back all within 24hrs.

20.01.2022 We are open! After many weeks of hard work, we now have a new workshop and are ready to take on your suspension jobs. Many thanks to the local trades who have helped during the build and our amazing customers for their patience. ... With the current riding restrictions, now is the perfect time to post, courier or contact-less drop off your suspension for servicing and tuning.

14.01.2022 Beta Motorcycles Australia are popular down here in Tasmania and we’ve been working hard on developing some great settings. The new ZF forks are a little on the soft side for average to fast riders and they lack external adjustability. It took a little more machining then normal to get spring preload in a workable range to take full advantage of the preload adjuster. We also added a plastic spacer to stop the spring rubbing on raw aluminium and contaminating the oil. ... We’ve increased damping levels to provide more support and added a compression adjuster to provide better external adjustment. We’re really stoked with the results of this latest round of development.

13.01.2022 We often get asked about aftermarket shocks. The simple answer is that a new shock that retails for under $1000 isn’t normally a great investment. More often than not, spending half that on the oem shock will provide a much better result, but only if the damping curve can be measured and adjusted accordingly. This shock here was purchased directly from the manufacturer by the owner and unfortunately was worse than the original shock. ... After multiple revalves, the damping curves are now much better matched to the leverage ratio, application and customer preference. #shockdyno

08.01.2022 Here’s a new colour combo. Kashima, DLC and polished axle lugs. Turned out real nice.

07.01.2022 Dynoing forks is a tough gig. Not only is the revalve/test/repeat process extremely time consuming and difficult to predict completion timeframes, but having to manufacture the mounts is another hurdle. These mounts are not really commercially available, so making them in house is needed. Just when you think you’ve got all forks covered, in comes another pair that require something different. ... In this photo, we’re using a boring head in the mill, to enlarge the clamp area by 0.3mm.

06.01.2022 Project Rally Bike. After many months of building, the ground up build of our home made Frankenstein Rally bike is ready to hit the trails. The majority of the bike stated life as a 525EXC, but it has now seen plenty of modifications plus heaps of SXS parts, some important hand made components and even a few Japanese bike parts.... More details accompany the photos.

01.01.2022 #tenere700 Tuesday. After several runs on the suspension dyno, we have transformed this lounge chair ride into something that can handle the typical Aussie abuse. #teneretragics

01.01.2022 Loctite damping. These forks (red trace) had an extra 50% of low speed rebound damping compared to all the other identical forks (black trace) that we’ve tested over the years. So we knew something was wrong. Upon disassembly, the problem was obvious. The rebound shims were glued together with excessive Loctite.
