19.01.2022 Aussie Movies at their best! Besides THE DRY, we have screening this month PENGUIN BLOOM - the true story of an unlikely hero - and HIGH GROUND - Australia's untold history. New in this week is the animated movie, DREAMBUILDERS. This movies centres on a young girl who misuses her newfound ability to create and control other people's dreams to teach her bothersome stepsister a lesson.... Continuing this week are WONDER WOMAN, MONSTER HUNTER and DRAGON RIDER. Coming in on the 14th will be THE CROODS: A NEW AGE - The prehistoric family the Croods are challenged by a rival family the Bettermans, who claim to be better and more evolved. MUSIC - Zu is newly sober when she receives news that she is to become the sole guardian of her half-sister named Music, a young girl on the autism spectrum. The film explores two of Sia's favorite themes: finding your voice and creating family. ROSIE - The story of a mother trying to protect her family after their landlord sells their rented home and they become homeless.

17.01.2022 Starting this week, Jan and I will be opening the cinema on a Friday morning for a 10am session. BRAZEN HUSSIES is a documentary on the Australian Women's Liberation Movement of the 1960s and will screen on Saturday afternoon. The 2010 Disney hit movie FROZEN will screen for 1 session on Sat.... And Liam Neeson, as we know him best, returns to the screen this week in HONEST THIEF. Coming in next week we have ANDRE RIEU - Magical Maastricht, TANGLED, MISBEHAVIOUR and ONWARD.

13.01.2022 Never Too Late opens next week. The preview screenings proved very popular last week. At times a touching movie but also very funny. A great Aussie cast. This week weekend we will have preview screenings of the new Aussie movie RAMS starring Michael Caton and Sam Neill. RAMS will open on Thursday, 29th Oct. Back by popular demand we will be screening Made in Italy. This will be the final screening.... 09.01.2022 Coming your way this week is the the third story in the series CATS AND DOG: PAWS UNITE. In this episode Gwen the Cat and Roger the Dog are secret agents who covertly protect and save the world without humans ever finding out. We also have a twist to the fairy tale of Snow White called RED SHOES AND THE SEVEN DWARFS. In Red Shoes princes who have been turned into Dwarfs seek the red shoes of a lady in order to break the spell, although it will not be easy. Over the next 3 weeks we will be screening three of Disney's favourite movies. We start with MOANA on the 14th, the a week later we will screen FROZEN. On the 28th we will have TANGLED. Then as a special event on Sunday, 29th we will screen Disney's ONWARD.

08.01.2022 WE ARE CONJOLA - OUR FIRE OUR STORY NYE 2019. Director and film maker Ash Brennan lost his house in the Conjola Park Bushfire which nearly killed his brother and many others who stayed to fight. From a Perth hotel room Ash saw the first image of what used to be his house in the background of a news reporter. Up until that moment, Ash had been heavily involved in the West Papuan Freedom Campaign, working alongside Independence Leader Benny Wenda to raise awareness of the pli...ght of the people of West Papua and was half way through pre-production on a documentary about the Independence movement when the NYE Bushfires struck. Conjola was abandoned and left for dead.After almost being wiped off the map, a traumatised community waited for help. But it never came. Local artists then started creating. They needed to heal. It gave the community hope and solidified their journey to recovery, together. Ash hopes that the creation of this film will be part of that recovery. PENGUIN BLOOM Based on the best-selling book of the same name, the film tells the story of Sam Bloom (Academy Award nominated Naomi Watts) a young mother whose world is turned upside down after a shocking, near-fatal accident leaves her paralyzed. Sam's husband, (Andrew Lincoln), her three young boys and her mother (Academy Award nominated Jacki Weaver), are struggling to adjust to their new situation when an unlikely ally enters their world in the form of an injured baby magpie they name Penguin.
