25.01.2022 The light or dark colour scheme which do you prefer?



25.01.2022 Our project for 16 Townhouses at Lakelands Drive, Dapto is moving into the construction documentation stage. It will be interesting to see what the market think about the streetscape. Most townhouse developments default to a modern box style facade to more easily comply with council guidelines.

24.01.2022 This week at Sustainable by Design we worked on new concepts for a rual style home at Bingara Gorge, a French Provincial inspired home at Windang, a new duplex at Vincentia, a house at Bayswood Estate and a detached dual occupancy at West Wollonong. Construction plans for a new homes at Wentworth Falls and Glenbrook. We recieved the go ahead for a new medium density development in Tarrawanna and new homes in Port Kembla and Figtree.

24.01.2022 This week we have worked on projects for Stroud Homes, G.J. Gardner, Hotondo Homes, Bora Developments, samctuary New Homes in locations from Catherine Hill Bay to Keiraville and Conjola Park. As well as our cutom clients building in various locations around the Illawarra. Its certainly going to be a busy run to Christmas but we are up to the challenge. #sustainable #buildingdesigner #custommade #wollononghomedesign



24.01.2022 Frames are up at North Bondi. Our first design project in this exclusive pocket of the Eastern Suburbs.

22.01.2022 Just a few of the jobs we have been working on this week. We still have plenty of work from our long time clients like Hotondo Hornsby, Blue Mountains, Macarthur and G.J. Gardner Shoalhaven, Wollongong and Suherland. As well as our smaller builders and individual clients.

22.01.2022 Our monochromatic house in Kiama has been getting great feedback from the website images so i thought I'd add some more here. Actually I need a name for it to enter in the National design awards, I was thinking House Noir, any suggestions?



21.01.2022 Low Rise Medium Density Housing Code has been recommended to be deferred until 1st July 2020 by the independent review. The review voiced concerns regarding local character, certification and the Design Verification Statement. Private certification works best when you have black and white compliance criteria once local character is introduced the process becomes to subjective. Meanwhile the simplified planning system continues to become more complicated.

20.01.2022 Flat sites in Farmborough Heights are hard to find and this one was no exception. Bora Developments have done a great constructing our design on a challenging site.

20.01.2022 Photography has been completed on the North Bondi project and the house is lookinhg awesome.

18.01.2022 I left work early on Friday and didn’t realise I had won an award .

18.01.2022 Scaffolding is off at North Bondi and the house is taking form, a custom screen to the front windows will be a big feature of the finished home.



18.01.2022 Two of our latest projects were finalist in the national Building Designer Awards today. This is the second nomination for our Redgum Ridge home which took out the major prize in the combined Greater Sydney Chapters award last year. Our North Bondi home was the other finalist.

18.01.2022 Tullimbar Village - from 2005 onward SBD was engaged to prepare the development application and construction documentation for Tullimbar Village. 02.01.2022 Its was a busy week in the office and great to see some decent rain. This week we worked on a new houses at Balgownie, Woonona, Back Forest, Hornsby, Greta, Thirlmere and started construction plans for a Duplex we designed overlooking Bombo Beach. We also entered two homes in the Building Designer awards, a cottage in Burrawang and a duplex at Russell Vale.

02.01.2022 It's been another busy week mainly working on construction plans for approved projects. Preparing construction plans for our builders requires thorough and detailed documentation, we are directly responsible to the builder if something dosen't work on site.
