20.01.2022 Dubbo Regional Council is launching the Its Our Macquarie stormwater education campaign to urge all residents to help protect the Macquarie River from stormwater pollution! Watch the FULL VIDEO and complete the online SURVEY for your chance to win some great prizes for you, your school and your workplace! 20.01.2022 As part of the Its Our Macquarie stormwater education campaign approximately 30 stormwater drains have been stencilled with the message This drain is ONLY for... rain. The stencils aim to remind residents that anything that can fall into the gutter, can wash into our street drains, and into our waterways inhabited by fish, frogs and other aquatic animals and plants. Grass clippings, fertiliser, chemicals, dog poo, litter, cigarette butts, soil and sediment.that stuff is bad for rivers and for us too! The most effective way to reduce stormwater pollution is to stop it entering the system in the first place and if we all do our part this winter it can make a big difference. For more information on what you can do at home, on the street or at work or school, and for your chance to WIN some fantastic prizes, visit Councils website! https://www.dubbo.nsw.gov.au//Water--sewerage-a/stormwater
