25.01.2022 Today's new brew, + + +
23.01.2022 Hi, firstly thanks to everyone who attended this Saturday afternoon, it was a bit rough at times with equipment malfunctions ect but we got there :) The support was appreciated though, this has been months in the works and I hope everyone got some value from the session. A few followups on some questions from Saturday; *We used sodium percarbonate to clean the equipment on the day. ... *Starsan which is the other cleaner I use at home is acid based (Phosphoric acid 50% and Dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid 15%) Recommended PH once diluted is 3.5 or below. What you’d buy in store is concentrated. This definitely requires rinsing of equipment once used though. *The nutrient we used was diammonium phosphate. *As for an expected final standard gravity, given we used a dry mead recipe, we're looking at around a 1.000 1.005 range but up to 1.015 is not unexpected either, it might be higher if you do things later to modify like back sweeten once fermentation is done. Incase anyone missed the Original Specific Gravity on Saturday it was 1.132. *BrewTracker is the app I'm starting to use to log recipes at this time. It's available on Android and iOS for free. Probably the best functions are an export to CSV function and an ABV% calculator inbuilt. As for things going forward I'll definitely be adding some more brews to the site that I do, but, given my day job travel in March another session in person might be a few months off and probably in the south west this time which is my home turf. This will also allow some ironing out of the kinks. I also need some time to decompress as the lead up has been a mad rush to get organised in the lead up to Saturday and to say I'm exhausted is an understatement. I'll still be around to answer questions if anyone needs help though.

Parking on Beaufort St or at the Community centre doors is a bit difficult at the best of times, but, ample parking is available in Lawley Cres, opposite Perth College.
