09.05.2022 Kickstart Arts in Hobart, this Saturday afternoon. I have an item to get repaired!!
19.04.2022 It was a wet one! But the Vote Climate Action Rally had passionate and thoughtful speakers and a good if soggy crowd. Maybe you were there. Here's me with my 'Drop the Coal Scotty' sign.
25.01.2022 A little something we've been working with a bunch of awesome students on... A 100kW solar panel system is now operational and expected to generate 83% of the school's current energy use. The students next aim is to reduce energy use by 17% through efficiency measures, which would make it (to our knowledge at least) the first energy-neutral school in Tasmania!
24.01.2022 Some really good information here wherever you live in Tasmania.
22.01.2022 Sustainable Living Tasmania is very glad to sponsor this important event. We hope that many of our members and supporters will join us at the event. COVID-19 has disrupted our way of life, forced rapid change and new ways of doing things. We have a choice: to go back to ‘business as usual’ or to boldly create a stronger, thriving Tasmania. The Tasmanian Way invites us all to be part of a community conversation that will be communicated to the Premier's Economic and Social Recovery Advisory Council. Be heard.

17.01.2022 Some months ago, SLT sponsored an innovative process to explore how Tasmania could emerge stronger from COVID 19, called Thriving Tasmania - some of you may have participated. It was really inspiring and generated some beautiful ideas for our future. Here is the summary. Check it out and be inspired and encouraged. (click on Summary Document.) https://www.tasmanianway.org/thrivingtasmania
16.01.2022 Thanks to sponsorship from Tasnetworks, we've been busy advising Tasmanian charities to reduce their energy bills, make their buildings more comfortable, and generate renewable energy. It's been wonderful to apply our specialist knowledge to helping these organisations who do so much for our community.

12.01.2022 How and why did the Franklin River campaign succeed where so many others have not? This documentary film seeks to explore that and more, with important lessons for those seeking to bring about progressive societal change today. This film has been a passion project by local film maker Oliver Cassidy and others for years. Help it across the line by pledging a donation to their crowd funder. 11.01.2022 On 18th Nov, Amanda Cahill joins the ranks of the likes of Paul Hawken, Penny Figgis, David Suzuki, Amory Lovins, Paul Ehrlich, and 20 other leaders in environmental thought from around the world who have delivered the Richard Jones Memorial Lecture... Embracing the Cracks in the Pavement ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Turmoil and uncertainty seem to abound everywhere we look as people feel increasingly insecure about their futures and grieve the loss of faith in our crumbling ins...titutions. But what if the current disruptions to our political, economic and social systems hold the potential for the emergence of an economy that can not only provide for the wellbeing of all people, but is centred on tackling the biggest ecological challenges that threaten our very existence? What would this regenerative economy look like and where is it emerging across the world? And what would it take to tackle the political dynamics in this country that continue to relegate so many positive initiatives to the margins? ~~~ Learn more about Richard Jones and the memorial lectures here: rjml.org.au/about
