25.01.2022 It’s sad what the world has come too. In this short vid by sustainable human, it’s outlined rather specifically

25.01.2022 In Amsterdam, the number one mode of transport is bicycles. Where even the pedestrians and cars MUST give way to all cyclists. A sight to behold, with thousands upon thousands of bicycles just in this one bicycle parking. Now that’s energy efficient.

23.01.2022 I get really excited about testing building materials. They arrive in the mail and I put them to the test in ways that google hasn't been able to answer. Comp...arisons that haven't been made, like the odor level of mineral paints and how do they hold up to splatter on the wall. I get excited about digging into ingredients and discovering something: ingredients that were not clearly disclosed (like biocides), new hints to toxic chemical additives hidden within the patents (like what "soy based glue" really is), false claims (rampant with air purifiers). I like discovering good things too, that an inexpensive flooring from Home Depot is just as good as the expensive "green" labeled options. GREENWASHING IS WORSE THAN EVER Building products are improving, but we are up to our ears right now in greenwashing due to increased interest in healthy products. How products are described currently is highly confusing. A TYPICAL PRODUCT DESCRIPTION 1. Product is "eco something" which may be a certification they made up, or their industry made up. Certipur is one that is made by the polyurethane industry, and soy foam is actually polyurethane with some soy. 2. Product has some natural, organic or sustainable components - that doesn't say what else is in it. Sometimes the natural alternative is more toxic than the synthetic, I just saw this with baby play mats. 3. Product doesn't have x, y z - some of which were never in this type of product to start with. Formaldehyde-free on a product that never contained formaldehyde before? Common. Some of these x, y, and zs have been substituted with another *very* similar toxic chemical. BPA is now BP(another letter), phthalates are another plasticizer, a toxic flame retardant is substituted with another toxic flame retardant. WHAT'S ACTUALLY IN IT?? This list does not tell us what is in it. Where's the info on what is actually in it? It's not there on their product description. They know we can't keep up - at least the average consumer cannot keep up. It's not possible. They choose a few chemicals that are in vogue to talk about. Whatever the latest buzz word chemical is - that happens to be the one they just took out (and substituted something else instead). That's what I'm digging up as much as is possible right now. RECENT INTERVIEW This recent interview of me goes into this a bit. The audience for this podcast is healthy folks though, so I don't go too far down this rabbit hole that I love to go down for sensitive folks (there's another interview coming out soon for that). https://podcasts.apple.com//176-how-to-avoid-/id994018952 Your healthy friends will find this interview helpful in order to sort through what to focus on when avoiding toxins. (Spoiler I talk about mold a fair bit, along with the above greenwashing). Pictures for upcoming post updates: 1. Putting mineral paints to the test 2. Testing out green flooring to see if they are really better than what's at the hardware store 3. Finding an alternative for vinyl flooring, especially for trailers and small prefabs 4. Testing "natural" floor finishes

But give them a bowl of seeds and education on how to grow and nurture those seeds and you fill the bellies of family’s, communities and nations for a lifetime to come. #strawnomoreproject #morality #planetearth #greennature #feedthenation #grettathunberg #sustainability #earthfocus

06.01.2022 Thank you sharing about waste in NZ Rachel

05.01.2022 In Germany along the Autobahn’s there are so many numerous wind turbines and solar farms. Apparently there are no longer any coal fired power plants. However, because Germany is often not sunnny or windy it then causes issues of there not being enough power to supply the entire country. So they have to purchase their power internationally, meaning fossil fuels are used to transport it and creating very high power costs for German citizens.
