21.01.2022 3 weeks post Grade 2 Calf Tear. Well I can’t say it’s been the easiest of weeks we’ve had To reach the age of 15 before he gets a sporting injury has been quite the learning experience indeed First there needs to be an admittance there is actually an injury.... this comes about by saying, mum I need to go to a physio because your wrong. I need a ‘proper’ diagnosis. Some would say I’ve taught him well but I did kind of want to slap him ...Continue reading

12.01.2022 With 75% of our receptors throughout the palms of our hands and soles of our feet it is imperative to our overall (physical, emotional, mental, physiological and spiritual) health to let them explore and breathe every day

08.01.2022 Interesting comparison images. ...Photo 1 on the left was taken the day we were instructed to close our doors due to not being an essential service during the Covid19 lockdown. -Note the veins in my neck- ... ...Photo 2 on the right was around 6weeks post reopening -Note my neck looking more comfortable In photo 1 as my neck clarifies, I am stressed, worried, emotionally crippled, out of control but trying to control the situation, reassuring not only clients and the community but also myself and scared shitless that my business will not reopen its doors..... not the end of the world but also definitely not what I had planned for 2020. We hear all this freaking jargon about how important breathing is and how we need to bla bla bla frickin bla breathe more, inhale, exhale to this many counts that many times to the beat of a drum so many times a day and take in the f#%*ing scenery and earth connect and to just love yourself. I mean there is definitely science to prove that shit works but when you break it down to 2 pictures it gets pretty ugly and very confronting. On the left is your typical Sympathetic (fight, flight, freeze) Response. No diaphragmatic breath, panic, fear.... which for prolonged periods of time = irrational decision making, disease, mental illness and injury. On the right is more your Parasympathetic (rest and digest) Response .... (hmmm I look like I’m saying something pretty important though as I’ve got my hand talking too so maybe I’m not out of the woods just yet). I’ve shared these two images more so to hopefully connect with those who are still in lockdown or those who are still not quite sure what to believe, how to act, what to say, where to stand in the cue at the post office, still not quite breathing how you used to, or worried about what is happening to our world,... to say we are with you. We are feeling free but handcuffed - working but restricted - driven and yet lost - energetic with a lack of oomph. We miss our sister cities we could roam to and can feel the intake of the extra wifi running through our systems to try and connect with those we are no longer allowed to visit freely. I hope your all ok, or at least know that your not ok which could lead to you connecting with someone who may be able to hold your hand and let you sit in this uncomfortable shit of not quite being ok.

08.01.2022 Personal Training with friends = good feels ..... watch until the end and you will understand

06.01.2022 This is what injuries look like in our house. A Calf injury for the young fella at footy yesterday so until we get a diagnosis tomorrow we go into acute injury phase. Looks a little different from the traditional R.I.C.E method right? Did you know the R.I.C.E theory was coined by Dr Gabe Mirkin in 1978. His method has been used since then to treat injuries helping to reduce pain and inflammation. Ok now did you also know that in 2015 Dr Gabe Mirkin himself, after research...ing more specifically with ice on injuries, his findings were in fact true with ice reducing inflammation and pain but more interestingly ice can also reduce and delay the healing process the tissues need to heal effectively. You see our body has a natural ‘anti-inflammatory response to pain and injury by such fluid is sent rushing to the acute area... when ice is applied it has a vassal restriction effect and can delay not only the important inflammatory fluids getting into the injured area but also it restricts the fluid getting out of the injured area, which can have a kind of toxic waste effect left trapped throughout our injured tissue. Now I’m not saying ice doesn’t help pain, I’m just saying it can also hinder our bodies ability to heal itself. #itshard #goingagainst #thegrain #didyouspot #thebaileys? See more

05.01.2022 Great to see and hear the Scientific evidence still proving the benefits of moving from the well known R.I.C.E method to the not so new but considered unconventional M.O.V.E method. Remember Ice will indeed do it’s job fantastically to reduce pain and swelling ....but science again tells us, by reducing pain and swelling in such a way will slow down the tissue repair process. Icing injuries is not wrong.... we’ve just improved our knowledge. #itsok #to #change
