Two female koalas wh...o had received treatment at the Dubbo Zoo Wildlife hospital needed a ride home to Gunnedah. Penny is pictured with "Southie" who has since been released back into the wild. Thank you to all the amazing people in Gunnedah who are ensuring these Koala’s safety, quality of life and survival! See more

05.01.2022 We are seeking Expressions of Interest for Round two of the Koala Habitat Restoration Project. Tamworth Regional Landcare Association is reaching out to private... landholders in the Liverpool Plains and Gunnedah Shires to express interest in a koala habitat restoration project. Funded under the NSW Governments Saving Our Species (SOS) program, the project aims to procure at least thirty(30) hectares of new koala habitat across both Shires by the end of 2021. Tamworth Regional Landcare Association (TRLA) have a grant funding agreement with the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment to oversee the Saving Our Species koala conservation project in the Gunnedah and Liverpool Plains region. The state-wide SOS program aims to secure threatened plants and animals in the wild in NSW. A total of $145,000 has been allocated to fund the program in the Gunnedah and Liverpool Plains LGAs.
