SISTERWORKS is a not-for-profit social enterprise that supports women who are refugees, asylum seekers or migrants to improve their confidence, mental wellbeing and sense of belonging. I have helped these wonderful women before and I’m doing it again ... These amazing migrant women are making these funky masks and they need our help ... For every $10 donated to SisterWorks, they provide and distribute a DHHS mask to a vulnerable m...ember of their community. The goal is 5,000 masks so far they have donated 1,110 By selecting the Donate a Mask page through their online shop, you will donate $10 to SisterWorks, which they will use to make a DHHS Compliant Reusable Face Mask. SisterWorks will then distribute this mask to a vulnerable member of the community Their Reusable Cloth Face Masks are super comfy breathable and creatively made. 11.01.2022 A lot of people ask me why recycled plastic is SO important? .... here I’m holding some post consumer plastic flake recently taken at a plastic recycling manufacturer, Martogg & Co, The simple answer is recycling plastic, and in this case PET, (polyethylene terephathalate), decreases our reliance on fossil fuels to produce more virgin material Here’s a FACT .... The use of rPET in place of virgin PET cuts the CO2 Output / Gre...enhouse emissions by up to 79%!!! . 08.01.2022 REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE ... requires a shift in mindset Just like we humans, our soil needs it’s own R&R and in order to function efficiently our farming land needs to rest while it’s grazing stock are rotated I picked up this book again yesterday Who’s Minding the Farm after watching Australian Story hosted by it’s author and regenerative farmer, Patricia Newell. I interviewed Patricia on my @3AW Sustainable Living segment on radio for her book launch last year an...d, like many climate conscious citizens, I am grateful for the mind shift ... to quote one farmer So what is it?? It's form of agriculture in which farmers go beyond seeking to be sustainable to ‘regenerate agriculture ecosystems’ that have been adversely affected by agriculture over long periods of time. This wholistic approach to farming in Australia is getting a lot of attention as farmers start to change their approach, and to quote a farmer the first paddock I had to shift was the one between my ears"!! It isn’t just about producing food without chemicals; regenerative agriculture is the next step in organic farming. This holistic approach to farming is all about engaging in processes that actually give back to the earth and leaves it better than when we found it. Think of our children’s children!!
