10.01.2022 Why I started SUSTOMi part 2: Switching to a package-free, wholefood diet made miraculous differences to my energy levels and health. Gone were the unexplained headaches, afternoon energy slumps, upset stomachs... the list could go on! There are so many ways to explain the shift in my energy levels, however, I attribute a great chunk of it to a change in the food I was eating - switching WHERE I WAS SHOPPING was the biggest change of all. ... Avoiding big chain supermarkets and shopping at bulk food stores was the first place to start. With this change, there were a few things to learn. How to collect and store food, fresh?? This leads me on a journey to investigating how best to store this wonderful produce and wholesome ingredients I was purchasing. Fresh food storage became a foundation pillar for SUSTOMi.

07.01.2022 PERSONAL STATEMENT FROM BRONWYN: Why I started SUSTOMi part 1. "Let's explore the world for the rest of my life!", said Bronwyn in 2014 while traveling amazing destinations across the globe. It was initially both the drive to keep the planet looking beautiful and the craving for feeling at optimal energy everyday which started my journey into wholefoods, the low-waste lifestyle, beeswax wraps, and what is now SUSTOMi. Traveling outside the borders of Australia really open...ed my eyes to what was happening in other countries, in terms of waste production and management. Areas in South East Asia hit me hardest - with no well developed waste management system, the natural environment was polluted. I saw first hand the devastation a poorly managed waste stream can make. Who wants to swim with plastic packaging and cigarette butts? Or go on river cruises only to be pushing through floating plastic water bottles? Realising most of the waste seen was from single use, PREVENTABLE items drove me to start a company, helping people make the switch to reusable. See more

07.01.2022 Reducing plastic bag consumption one bag at a time. How is your community going with single-use plastic alternatives? We’re thankful that our local bulk food stores and local grocers are still accepting produce and reusable bags. ... We’ve been extra careful to ensure they’ve been washed between each use. Each bag has the weight printed on the tag, which can be easily removed by the store staff at the counter.
