23.01.2022 WE ARE BACK!! Choir rehearsals will resume from the start of Term 3! We are soo excited to be able to welcome your children back! Thank you for your tremendous support and patience as we ticked all the boxes! All rehearsals will take place at the Sutherland Pensioners' Centre (including the Teen Voices). ... Teen Voices: Tuesday 21st July 4:30pm - 6:00pm Allegro Choir: Wednesday 22nd July 4:00pm - 5:00pm Training Choir: Wednesday 22nd July 5:15pm 6:15pm Performing Choir: Wednesday 22nd July 6:30pm - 7:45pm Our rehearsals will focus on preparing for our CD recording sessions at the end of the term. The theme of this year's CD is 'animals'. The Sutherland Shire Children's Choir is registered as COVID safe. Guidelines have been emailed to parents. We accumilated a total of 91 choir activity videos during the remote learning period! These can be accessed from the members only section of the website using your username and password.

18.01.2022 Thanks for helping to keep the Sutherland Shire Children's Choir singing! Whilst 2020 has been a bumpy year, we are proud that we’ve been able to adapt. We need music and social connection now more than ever! There is something very special about singing together. We work hard to nurture a passion for music and build choristers’ self esteem. When this pandemic is over, we believe that the world will be screaming out for live entertainment and joyful live experiences. We look forward to returning to our major concerts with a live audience and band, CD recordings at a professional studio, community events such as the Sutherland Shire Relay for Life opening ceremony and offers of professional singing gigs such as the recent Woolies ad. In the meantime, we will continue having fun at rehearsals while improving our singing skills.

17.01.2022 CHOIR VENUE CHANGE: The Sutherland Shire Children's Choir rehearsals have moved to a new and improved venue: Loftus Community Hall 119-129 Loftus Ave, Loftus.... This new venue will help us to comply with the possible future COVID restrictions allowing us more square metres per person and an outdoor rehearsal option. This hall is larger than the Sutherland Pensioners' Centre, has a beautiful stage and a fenced outdoor area with shade sale. Parking is easier, there is playground next door, a cafe nearby and it's a short drive to Sutherland shops. REHEARSAL TIME SLOT CHANGES Permanent change for 2021: The Training Choir and Performing Choir will rehearse earlier in the afternoon. The Allegro Choir rehearsal will be the same time as previously advised. Temporary change: The Teen Voices will start the year rehearsing at a later time allowing us to use the Loftus Community Centre. Rehearsals will return to 4:30pm at Engadine when the COVID restrictions allow. 12.01.2022 END OF YR CONCERT FILMING SUNDAY 29TH NOVEMBER AT LOFTUS COMMUNITY CENTRE After considering the current restrictions we have realised it is still unfeasible for us to hold a concert at the Engadine Community Centre. We have worked out a fun and safe alternative! The children will instead be performing their concert at the Loftus Community Hall and it will be filmed for family to watch at home. It will be an exciting performance event with a stage and microphones just like a... live concert. Instead of concert tickets, a participation fee of $15 per chorister will be charged to help cover the costs of running the event. Choristers will need to wear their choir shirt with black dress pants, black shoes and black socks.
