25.01.2022 #jacarandapreschoolcaringbah is very proud to be part of this great exhibition

25.01.2022 As preschools of the Alliance we are all extremely proud to be a part of such a wonderful showcase of children’s art.

24.01.2022 Family. Stories and songs. Showing how to care for mob and Country. Listening to Aunties, Uncles, Elders and Ancestors. Learning how to be to each other, to ...Country. Aunty Faye Muir. To honour National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children's Day we walked on Country and reflected with the children on this year's theme "We are the Elders of tomorrow, Hear our Voice". Our reflections centred on the rights of the child to have their voices heard. We discussed the passing of knowledge from Elders and Knowledge Holders to our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. Our reflections led us to think about our dear friend, the late Les Bursill, Dharawal Elder and Knowledge Holder. Les so generously passed on knowledge to us and to our children and we will be forever grateful. We discussed the importance of family and connection to each other and our community; our knowledge of bush tucker; the story of the whales and the wattle; the Dharawal words we use everyday; the importance of our connection to the Country and our responsibility as custodians of the land. Our children recognised that this knowledge is also passed on to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island children by their family and Elders. We believe it's vitally important to share conversations with our children and to support their knowledge and leadership. 09.01.2022 Educators, Teacher and Directors from the Sutherland Shire Preschool Alliance spent an inspiring day working with Dr Claire Warden learning about Inquiry Based Learning Through Floor Books. We were so fortunate and excited to hear from this world renowned speaker and consultant. A day spent working with colleagues learning, critically reflecting and planning is a very special time. Dr Warden is donating a percentage of the proceeds of today to the Koala Hospital in Port Macquarie which is not surprising considering her commitment to nature pedagogy. #clairewarden #naturepedagogy Claire Warden

06.01.2022 Inspired by the story You and me Murrawee by Kerri Hashmi, the children wondered what the land on which Jannali Preschool stands looked like 200 years ago. ...There would have been grass and rocks and trees here, said one child. And lots of animals too, like swamp wallabies and turtles and ants too! added another. A few of the children created these amazing artworks after collecting natural resources from the playground, researching the Dharawal words to accompany their artworks!
