Children are not known for their ability to focus, so flashcards make it easier for educators to provide small pieces of information in a memorable and interesting way.

19.01.2022 Sand play promotes physical development. Large muscle skills develop as children dig, pour, sift, scoop, and clean up spills with brush and dustpan. Eye-hand coordination and small muscle control improve as children learn to manipulate sand accessories. Sand play also promotes social skills.

17.01.2022 ELLA - Kindergarten Language Program ELLA is an exciting digital language learning program for preschoolers. It opens up a world of cultural possibilities for children early in life. Children learn a range of languages using play-based apps called The Polyglots. (A polyglot is someone who is multilingual.) They use the apps on the tablet devices at preschool. The apps were designed with help from language, early childhood and technology experts. At Sutherland's kinder the chi...ldren will be learning Italian. The apps have a cast of colourful characters the Polyglots who introduce children to a new language through digital play. Experiences match young children’s interests, like cooking, art, building, role-play and music. This means that the apps are as engaging as they are educational. The children will have the opportunity to explore the Ella app which is integrated into our program.

But did you know that learning how to cook can also help promote social, mental and physical development in children? It’s never too early to bring your child in the kitchen! The Kindergarten children at Sutherland's participated in a cooking experience, through this experience children gained some new and exciting skills.... Learning to cook from an early age teaches responsibility, fine-tunes motor skills,boosts self-confidence and self-esteem, encourages counting and reading skills and helps in bonding and connecting with others.
