23.01.2022 Just recently had an amazing break-through moment teaching double stroke roll technique to one of my students. The result was instantaneous and very positive. Everything comes back to technique. How you hold your sticks, how you control your sticks, where you hold your sticks. Carefully consider all these things in your daily practise. It will make a difference to your playing. These are the moments worth celebrating for both student and teacher. Happy days!... www.yougroove.com.au

23.01.2022 Want to clean your cymbals safely, without losing your logos and without spending heaps of coin? I used this the other day on my HHats on the result was great! Softly rub over wet cymbal (warm water), rinse well, dry with a paper towel to avoid any streaky residue. Its not a polish but sure cleaned them up. PS Im not sure if this is old news for most people but, hey, just sharing....

22.01.2022 Effective practise can be done in very simple ways. Take a simple fill and think of how you can make it sound better. Look at how good your timing is, try different accents and dynamics. Perfect it and put it in your chops bag.

20.01.2022 Man, this Gretsch kit never ceases to amaze me. Its a Catalina Ash from early 2000s (I think), cost me $600 and it sounds incredible.

14.01.2022 Anyone have any drummer hacks? My favourite is using those sticky hands for dampening. Way cheaper than moon gel.

12.01.2022 Make real progress to improving your skills and creativity. Find one thing you would like to learn or improve and just work on that. Try not to get bogged down in an overwhelming amount of stuff. Spend 20 - 30 minutes a day working on one thing and then move on. It really works wonders. This book is my current challenge. Whats yours?

12.01.2022 Well how about that? Supplied backline kit was incredible! And tuned really well too.

01.01.2022 No. #1 Rule for all drummers. When you are practising, NEVER sacrifice good Technique and Control for the sake of Speed. Choose a comfortable tempo (you are using a metronome right? Tell me you are using a metronome) and perfect the technique. Be in control of your sticks. Be very relaxed (tension is bad). ... Sure, you can test the waters with speed but be honest with yourself about how well you are playing in that speed. Ask yourself if you can sustain that speed with every note being clear and defined. yougroove.com.au
