24.01.2022 We love sharing our arena- we would love to pop up here a few housekeeping items regarding the casual hire of either of our arenas. We need to keep Covid safe and also work together. 1. Try not to be late for your booking as the next person will be coming in behind you and you can't go into their time. 2. Don't forget to sign in with your phone number ( on the shelf in stable isle way and next to outdoor arena gate) 3. Please sign a waiver if you haven't done so since Janu...ary. 4. Please pick up your poo and don't ride through it. 5. Arena hire does not allow the use of wash bay. A hose is located behind the indoor arena if needed. 6. Arena hire does not include the use of the round yard. 7. Please pick up your poo on driveways and car park 8. Please park on large grass areas , not along any driveways. We wouldn't have been able to run the Sutton Farm Show yesterday without the support of our judges, stewards, time keepers, volunteers, sponsor...s, photographers, caterers and riders, we like to say massive "Thank You" to you all! 17.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day to all those dads out there that purchased their child a pony, to all the dads that , hold horses, stand in all weather at competitions, pay the horsey bills, tow the float,carry tack, unload hay, fix fences , we love you. Thankyou for being the best dad ever.

16.01.2022 Raise your hand if you cringe at your position when watching back photos or videos of yourself riding. Have you ever stopped to consider how this is affec...ting the way your horse goes? Some problems that you may have been conditioned to think are him being ‘naughty’ or ‘stubborn’ may actually be caused by lack of clear communication from you. There are SO MANY things to think about when it comes to our position on a horse, and it’s EXHAUSTING! We’ve all heard it: Stop sitting like a sack of potatoes! Shoulders back! heels down! hands still! etc. etc. We all know that these qualities are not exactly aesthetically pleasing, but did you know how much they affect your horse? Balance and Rhythm - imagine running around with a backpack on, except the backpack isn’t moving with you. How hard would it be to stay in a good balance and rhythm? Clarity of aids - if you’re not keeping still or you’re not in the correct positioning you’re giving aids you’re not even aware of, then punishing your horse for doing what you didn’t know you asked for. Turning and Sideways - think of that backpack again - you want to go left but your backpack is putting all its weight to the right - which way do you naturally want to turn? Now we know a few ways our posture affects our horse, how do we fix it? It sounds daunting, trying to fix so many bad habits... Would you believe me if I told you there was one simple change you could make to drastically improve all your position problems. And the best part is, you can work on it OFF the horse! It’s CORE STRENGTH baby! (And no, I don’t mean you need to go and get a six pack) By strengthening our core off the horse we are able gain the strength we need to control our whole body so when we get back in the saddle we can clearly and correctly communicate with our horses. Yes, we still have to think about our hands/shoulders/legs etc. But it’s SOO much easier when we have control of our bodies. Riding is a sport and we are athletes - treat yourself like one! Thankyou for taking part in our 2 day junior clinic and we look forward to seeing you all again. Next week we hold our senior clinic and we can't wait to be jumping higher and challenging the older teens!!!!!
