24.01.2022 Just a little reminder of what we do best here! Call us for an appointment.
24.01.2022 Sensation is important for human function on many levels. It is controlled by our nerves and in regards to our feet, is responsible for protection. You can enhance these nerves simply by touching your feet more. Whether that be via massage or spending time barefoot. Either way, start reconnecting with your feet and your nervous system
21.01.2022 Let’s talk about corns and callus...the hard skin that builds up on feet. It’s a very common complaint and can be quite painful for some people! Skin will often thicken in areas exposed to more pressure. This pressure can be the result of a pair of shoes, a person’s foot type, activity or occupation. Podiatrists are one of the very few professionals who can use scalpel blades to remove corns and callus. If you’re wanting to give your feet a little TLC (and also want it done safely) we’re here for you!
21.01.2022 When did you last replace your runners? If you use your shoes for the gym, walking, brunch dates...pretty much everything, you will have probably clocked up a few kilometres without even knowing. We recommend changing your runners roughly every 6-12 months. When it comes to finding the right shoe for you, comfort is everything. If you’d like more advice, get in touch. We're here to help you get the best out of your feet
21.01.2022 To give you an idea of what we do here. How can we help you? Will you visit us soon?
21.01.2022 Children's feet endure three times more stress than adults. This is because our children tend to be more active and participate in higher impact activities, making it vital to get your kids in the right shoes. Their shoes should have good shock absorption, durable soles, flexibility and a great foot bed. This will aid your kids in the best foot development.
20.01.2022 Feet are a part of the body we often feel embarrassed about. It is common for us to apologise for their shape, size, appearance, the state of the skin, the nails...basically anything we can find fault with. It’s our goal to help you embrace every ‘fault’, every bead of sweat, irregular nail, or bony bump on your feet. If you ask us, perfection is boring!
19.01.2022 Wearing shoes with a wider fitting forefoot or toe box has a multitude of benefits. They can immediately make your feet feel more comfortable and reduce any pain caused by the squashing of your foot. Wearing wider shoes also has the long-term benefits of reducing your risk of developing pain and deformities such as bunions, hammer/clawed toes and pinched nerves. Not all business or going out shoes have to be narrow and uncomfortable. There are many brands that offer supportive and appropriately fitting shoes in a sneaky and inconspicuous way, so that you can look professional or keep up with the fashion. #prevention #widefit #comfort #fashion
19.01.2022 When we think about what our feet do for us, it’s a wonder we don’t take better care of them. It’s important to recognise their significant in keeping us grounded and centred and allowing us to move forward in life, both physically and energetically. Isn’t it high time we all showed our feet a little more gratitude?
18.01.2022 Just a little reminder of what we do best here! Call us to make an appointment.
18.01.2022 Our feet are the first point of contact with the earth. It is through them that we feel the ground, receive information about our environment and feel stable and strong in our bodies. If our feet don’t absorb shock optimally, the force is transferred further up the body and may impact the hips, back or neck.
18.01.2022 Heel pain in any form can be debilitating, be it plantar fasciitis, heel spur syndrome, fat pad syndrome or other. Don’t let your heel pain stand in your way - our friendly podiatrists are here to help! #heelpain #strappingtape #customfitorthotics #footwear #walking #running #jumping #living
17.01.2022 The simple act of walking has more benefits than we acknowledge. Getting into nature and away from our screen is just one of the many. It’s also important to give our minds time to wander...who knows what wonderful ideas may pop up or what wisdom we may download!
17.01.2022 It is important for your footwear to be wide enough at the front of the shoe to allow your toes to spread and stabilize! If your big toe is being squashed by the shoe, this can exacerbate symptoms and lead to further progression of the bunion. Tip: Try skip one islet at the front of the laces to allow greater expansion of the shoe... #Shoes #Lacing #Bunion #Feet

12.01.2022 As the temperature drops and we move into closed shoes, it’s crucial we don’t forget about our foot health. As the saying goes, out of sight out of mind. Let this be your reminder to check in with your feet. How are they feeling? How is the skin? How are the nails? Are they sore? Do they need a check up or some TLC?

09.01.2022 Anterior ankle pain is a musculoskeletal injury typically caused by repetitive trauma and compressive forces at the front of the ankle, leading to pain and stiffness. The condition is often seen in people participating in sports that incorporate repetitive, upwards motion of the ankle. People who have injured their ankle and who have not sufficiently rehabbed may experience pain or stiffness at the front of the ankle in future. Book an appointment with us if you have unresolved ankle pain. #ankle #foot #rehabilitation #running #footwear
09.01.2022 Have you ever experienced a sharp shooting pain in the front of your foot? This may be what’s known as a neuroma and commonly occurs from irritation or compression of a nerve. There are many causes and treatment options. If you’re experiencing similar symptoms it’s worth having them assessed by a podiatrist!
09.01.2022 Water is essential for life! Our skin needs water for hydration, as do our joints and fascia. If we are dehydrated, problems can arise in these areas (ie. cracked heels, aches and pains) so don’t forget to sip water frequently throughout each day.
08.01.2022 You don’t have to have bad feet to see a Podiatrist! We believe prevention is the best medicine and would encourage everyone to prioritise their foot health. Whether you’ve got blisters, bunions or hard, dry skin we can help! Get in touch if you want to know more about what we do
07.01.2022 Just a reminder with the weather cooling down and making footwear choices, that in shoes your children's toes (especially the big toe) needs to bend!!! It helps assist in a natural gait, allows the arch and glutes to activate at the right time and assists in health growth and development of functional posture. So, if the shoes don't bend, don't buy them.
07.01.2022 Welcome to Spring!

04.01.2022 We love helping our clients stay mobile and active but we all get a little excited Friday afternoon. Happy Friday and we hope you have a great weekend!
04.01.2022 Let’s talk about socks! Their role in foot health is often underestimated. Socks made of natural fibres such as cotton, wool or bamboo are your best choices. They allow your your feet breathe and limit excessive sweating, helping to prevent smelly feet and bacterial and fungal infections (hello tinea!) Change your socks daily or even twice a day if sweating more than usual. And don’t forget, size matters! Too tight and you limit circulation, too loose and they may rub which can lead to blisters
