24.01.2022 Finally the end of year formals are happening After a long wait I can finally share these happy moments with you. Alexia wanted a regal and elegant style for her formal gown. We met at Fabric Collection and chose a beautiful navy duchess satin and corded lace that worked magnificently in the design. She looks absolutely stunning and her hair and makeup just add to the WOW factor!

24.01.2022 I had the pleasure of meeting the most wonderful family from Yeppoon this year, they were travelling down with the bride as she was getting her gorgeous bridal gown made at the award winning Paddington Weddings. They kindly recommended me to make the bridesmaids and Mother’s outfits. After choosing the prettiest floral linen for the bridesmaids from Sckafs, and the most amazing silk chiffons for Mum from Fabric Collection, we set about designing the overall look - and organis...ing the fly in fly out fittings! 21.01.2022 The diversity of formal gown styles and colours has been mind blowing this year, so wonderful to see Here is beautiful Grace in her gorgeous strapless gown. After much deliberation she chose this fabulous floral lace for the bodice and the most amazing blue delustered satin for the skirt, all from Fabric Collection.... A simple and elegant design stepped up a level with amazing fabrics!

21.01.2022 We’ve heard some happy news about school formals rescheduling after July Beautiful Hannah was lucky to have attended her formal before the lockdown and WOW here are the photos! Hannah saw this pantsuit and knew it was exactly what she wanted. Perfect for her athletic physique, elegance and style - she looks absolutely radiant.... Sckafs Fabrics helped Hannah choose a lovely silver dupion silk for this amazing pantsuit. Being a strapless outfit I built a corseted bodice into the pantsuit, molding the silk over the top to create this stunning design. By the way, this outfit required nearly 11m of silk!

18.01.2022 As restrictions are being lifted there is hope for our yr 12 formals A lucky few enjoyed their event before the lockdown and I’m so happy to finally share their moments with you. For all lovers of tulle here is the gorgeous Louisa in her dream gown.... I layered different shades of blue and grey tulle to create the perfect colour. We chose a silver dupion silk as the base to create contrast and depth for the tulle. The circular skirt and ruched bodice enhanced the layers and Louisa finished the gown with soft bows on the shoulders. Soft, feminine and romantic

16.01.2022 Couture wedding gowns are my speciality, but I also offer a bespoke alteration service. Kelsey found her perfect gown, it just needed some fine tuning. The hem required taking up, the straps shortened and some bodice adjustments resulting in a perfect fit. Here comes the bride

She looked at a few different colours and fabrics but we eventually settled on this amazing blush sequined tulle lined in a pink satin. She looks absolutely stunning and the colour and style are perfect - so happy I could make her dream gown a reality

12.01.2022 Vintage gowns can be a challenge to alter but Natalie chose her gown well. Her dream dress was in great condition but could the alterations be done? After taking the zip out and replacing the back with traditional buttons, then losing the puff sleeve( keeping the gorgeous cuff)! Next step lining the skirt and a thorough detail of the gown. Voila, beautiful Natalie has her version of an amazing dress that has a wonderful history. ... It’s now hers to pass on See more

12.01.2022 Does anyone own boho luxe more than this devine lady? Cath wanted a beautiful, soft and flowing combination of laces for her gown. Selective Fine Fabrics helped her find the perfect lace combination and of course she chose the right dressmaker

12.01.2022 Michelle fell in love with the most amazing floral skirt and came to me with the question - How can we make this into my wedding gown? We sat down and sketched up a few ideas; here is the stunning result. What a gorgeous and happy bride! We decided on an ivory delustered satin bodice with an extended shoulder and finished the gown with a small aubergine coloured belt .... Who would have thought this was once a skirt and is now an amazing wedding gown for beautiful Michelle. See more

The linen sat so perfectly in the frills on the bodice and in the half circle skirt, and of course so cool to wear. Elle looks so happy and radiant in her gown, perfect for the setting and season

02.01.2022 A truely heartfelt hug goes out to all of the brides and grooms, their wedding parties and the formal girls and boys who have had to postpone their special events during this challenging time. You will still have your wonderful day just not as planned. Your gowns and special outfits are carefully stored awaiting their new celebration date Suzanne Spicer Couture is still open for business and we are following the strictest of hygiene procedures .... My full alteration service is still available too - from sewing a button on, hems, tears, to remodelling and recreating a favourite item. You can drop it at my door and pick up the next day if required. Keep positive, stay healthy and let’s look out for each other and our families and friends during these changing times
